After playing with Qwen3.8-27b for a couple of days, in my experience it's better than Claude Opus 4.6 and delivers quality work and I find it faster than Opus. And I never have to worry about hitting usage limits.
Going down the local inference rabbit hole with Qwen3.8-27b. It performs fast enough running on 4090 and 3080ti together with 262k context size, about 32t/s. Now to take 2 old 3080 cards to host a model for a sub agent. This is fun. I may cancel Claude soon.
Qwen3.8 27b running on my Nvidia 4090 GPU one-shot this web-based snake game today as I tested the model. Yes this is the result of one single prompt running on local inference.
