Hipocrates de Cos (400ac.), recomendaba a los obesos comer una vez al dia e ingiriendo altas grasas saludables. Y ejercicio despues de comer. No habia pubmed, ni DN, ni OMS, ni google. Observacion pura y dura y sentido común.

Most people lift a weight, determined to move it up and down as many times as possible. Instead, they should be thinking about using the weight to fatigue the target muscle as deeply as possible by recruiting all available motor units.

Every time your body is left alone it switches to ketones, and every time it is interrupted it switches to sugar, which tells you which one is the setting and which one is the interruption. You are born in ketosis. The fattest baby on earth, running its brain on ketones from day one, before anyone has handed it a biscuit. You sleep in ketosis. By the early hours the liver is making ketones every night of your life, and the morning tiredness is the cereal switching them off. You fast in ketosis. Miss two meals and the liver is already turning fat into fuel, and the brain takes it without a murmur. You hunt in ketosis. Every persistence hunter who ran an antelope down over a day did it on fat, because nobody carries 20,000 calories of sugar on a run. You winter in ketosis. Every northern people for two million years spent the dark months on meat, fat and the stores on their own body. You spend an illness in ketosis. Appetite goes, the body stops asking for food, and it runs on fat while it repairs. Sugar is the fuel of the meal. Ketones are the fuel of everything in between, which is most of a life. The sugar engine was never the default. It was the thing the orchard switched on for a fortnight in August. The factory setting is the one you wake up in, before the toast puts you back on the other one.

Breast cancer cells are LOADED with insulin receptors. That's important to know for preventing/treating it. Why? Read on... In 159 breast tumors, insulin receptor content was more than 6 times higher than in normal breast tissue. And the receptors worked: they bound insulin and switched on. Many cancer cells favor a form of the insulin receptor (IR-A) that acts mainly as a growth signal, not a sugar-handling one. Insulin tells these cells to grow. So what happens when insulin runs high? 512 women with early breast cancer had fasting insulin checked. Highest vs lowest quarter: 2x the distant recurrence, 3.1x the death rate. In the Women's Health Initiative, researchers measured insulin in about 1,650 postmenopausal women drawn from a cohort of 93,676. In women not on hormone therapy, the top quarter of insulin had 2.4x the breast cancer risk. And the obesity link mostly faded once insulin was accounted for. Few doctors check fasting insulin. Fewer still know that Low-carb/Keto/Carnivore is the most direct way to bring it down. I've made videos on this (see below). If high insulin goes with more breast cancer AND worse outcomes, why isn't fasting insulin part of every breast cancer workup? Studies and my videos below... – at Tennessee, USA

Jaw clenching = cortisol. Waking at 3am = cortisol. Belly fat that won’t shift = cortisol. Face that looks 5 years older than you feel = cortisol. One hormone. Here’s the fix:

I suspect nothing has contributed more to the rise in colon cancer than the addition of gums (xanthan, guar, etc) to almost every meal people eat

Your body was built to chase an animal until it dropped, and the chimpanzee's was built to sit in a fig tree. You: - Sweat glands at ten times the chimp's density - A long, springy Achilles tendon - A nuchal ligament to steady your head at a run - A backside built for running - An arched foot The chimp: - A tenth of your sweat glands - An Achilles tendon barely worth the name - No nuchal ligament - Barely a backside - Flat feet The animals that share that neck ligament with you include the dog and the horse. The chimp and the pig go without. The lettuce has never once tried to run away.

The worry that fasting eats muscle has it backwards, because the body raises growth hormone during a fast to spare protein. By day five of a fast in one study, 24-hour growth hormone was about three times higher than on a fed day, and between day one and day five free fatty acids rose almost fourfold and the ketone acetoacetate rose about fourteenfold. That's a body moving to its own fat for fuel while it protects muscle, and in my view it can do that because insulin has fallen low enough to allow it.
Fasted, your growth hormone climbs several-fold to protect your muscle. Fasted, your insulin drops low enough to let your own fat out of storage. Fasted, you burn the fuel round your middle instead of waiting for a delivery. Fasted, your brain switches on orexin, the chemical that keeps a hungry animal awake and alert. Fasted for a few days, your metabolic rate goes up, not down. Fasted, your muscles are still full of yesterday's fuel, because an overnight fast mostly drains the liver. Fasted, your cells start breaking down and recycling their own worn-out parts. Fasted, there is no mid-morning slump, because there was no breakfast. Fasted, there's nothing sloshing about when you brace for a squat. Every hunter in history went out on an empty stomach. Nature never once put the hunt after breakfast.
