Seeing seemingly everything reduced to this AI-generated self-help clickbait format, I can’t help thinking of Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, where the last ever edition of Hamlet was a 1-page plot summary to help you “impress your friends and neighbours!”

There's just no serious doubt that the "rape" prosecution of Russell Brand, for which he has now been convicted and jailed, was first precipitated by his very public turn toward vaguely right-wing (and admittedly often wacky) political and religious commentary. In 2022, the Times (UK) published a big feature lambasting him for his purported transformation into some sort of dodgy right-wing "conspiracy guru." Then in 2023 comes the big expose about Brand's allegedly sordid history of "sexual assault" and "abuse." The Times claimed they first started hearing of such allegations in 2019, but apparently had little urgency to follow up for several years. Then all of the sudden, in "autumn 2022, Channel 4’s Dispatches formally began collaborating with The Sunday Times to investigate Brand." Another notable event that occurred in "autumn 2022": Russell Brand was announced as a featured broadcaster on the right-wing (ish) video platform Rumble, alongside the likes of Donald Trump Jr. and Dan Bongino. Soon enough, boom — here comes the newly frenzied "investigative" activity by the joint Times/Channel 4 task force — eventually yielding the big splashy 2023 "documentary" (more like "slopumentary”) which today they are bragging "led to" Brand's conviction in London for various sexual assault and rape offenses. (He was also acquitted on multiple counts, in a very curious mixed verdict. NONE of the allegations aired in that 2023 propagandocumentary were ultimately charged at trial.) Really makes U think...

But basically, I invited him on the podcast, and he replied something along the lines of, "What does that even mean?" and then blocked me. Not kidding.

I wish Russell Brand would get the chair. I also don’t care if he is guilty or not. He’s a degenerate Zionist and nothing of value was lost.

I predict the Democrats will be far more aggressively right-wing and pro-war than even the Republicans, fully repairing NATO relations, doubling down on support for Ukraine, Taiwan, and broadening the strategy against Iran. The DSA will be seen by history as useful idiots.

Rice is the most important food in the world. This might seem like no big deal, but it’s indicative of the very bad times that are ahead.

One of my favourite genre of posters are academics who know enough about techno to be aware that it originated with Black Americans in Detroit but not enough to know that, for example, the Bellevue 3 were pretty middle class, or that Juan Atkins made several - really good - collaborations with a descendant of Otto von fucking Bismarck. Because these people simply do not give a shit about the music and want to use Juan Atkins’ death as an opportunity to shit on people that, for whatever reason, they dislike.
Juan Atkins's passing is a reminder that techno was invented by Black working class kids, not white bourgeois douchebags in Berlin whose labels and platforms profit from the Palestinian occupation and genocide. Thank you for coming to my TED talk on music history

The casual acceptance of forced conscription in Ukraine by the war’s blasé cheerleaders in the west is so insane. It’s literally war slavery. And they have forced a million men to their deaths.

I forgot about this but when I was a child some doctor wanted to give me Valium. My mother, who was herself a tremendous user of Valium, said no. Because, who in their right mind gives tranquilisers to a child? Who in their right mind gives any serious drug to a child, unless it's absolutely needed to treat a definite illness? Obviously puberty blockers are an exception. For example, if a boy says he likes the colour pink, obviously you immediately need to put him on puberty blockers. And ADHD meds. If a child finds school boring, you need to start dosing them with amphemtamines. Goes without saying.
Matthew Perry reveals doctors prescribed him highly addictive barbiturates when he was just 30 days old. “I was a colicky kid and I used to cry all the time. My parents took me to a doctor, and he was an older doctor and he wore a white coat and he said, 'If your baby's crying, just give him this.' And they said okay. It was phenobarbital, which is a major barbiturate and a very addictive thing. I was 30 days old and they gave it to me for 30 days. There's pictures of me looking knocked out... and they would laugh because, you know, stoned babies are fun I guess. I know that it affected my sleep forever. If I was a parent and it was 1970 and I was given this by a doctor and the baby stopped crying, I would do it too. But you know, now it's like, well you're f***ing crazy.”

If a person in your life tells you "it's not your fault" when they see you engaging in self destructive behavior, that person does not love you. When a professional tells you that, it's pure malice. Therapy destroys lives.
Matthew Perry breaks down in tears explaining the most painful realization he had about his castmates on Friends. “I was placed in some kind of spiritual guy’s office, and as we were done talking, he turned me around and said, ‘Just remember, it’s not your fault.’ I went, ‘What?’ He said it’s not your fault. I said, ‘What do you mean it’s not my fault, I’m the one who’s doing it.’ And he explained addiction and alcohol to me. And he saved my life. Because I then knew that it wasn’t my fault, that I wasn’t weaker, it wasn’t my will that was screwed up. It was that I have this disease. The thing that always makes me cry… is that it’s not fair. It’s not fair that I had to go through this disease while the other five didn’t. They got everything that I got, but I had to fight this thing.
