A week ago, and after 6 years w/ @905wesa, I took a buyout from the radio station that gave me my first full-time job in journalism, immersing me in the magical world of storytelling. The excitement doesn’t go away, but now I am ready for a new adventure as a freelance writer.
... @CPotterPgh for always embracing the struggle (made no easier by my incessant questioning), @LizReidPGH for exhibiting the power of raw talent and an open mind and @mariacarter for fostering a culture of excellence, fun and respect (ya changed my life!).
Thanks also to the @pghpublicradio union for securing a measure of agency for our colleagues & me at a time of financial distress. While the moment is right for me to take a buyout, much uncertainty remains for a team that continues to deliver every day. Pgh’s lucky to have them.
What an honor!
