Early GoT is still a spectacular show, but honestly, its clunky & often callous treatment of female characters, especially with regards to SA, & the constant use of nudity and sex to soften the blow of heavy handed exposition really makes me wonder how it'd be received today.

I agree that thematically HOTD is right on the money, but as a narrative it falls really flat and its determination to remove almost all agency from its characters is ruining any sense of momentum; damn shame because it’s also the closest we will get to seeing AFFC adapted

Plus none of Team Black outside Daemon or Rhaenyra (and maybe Corlys) has any sort of discernible character, which is one of the show’s biggest issues at the moment, esp for eps like last night which rely on us caring about Jace, Baela, and Rhaena
