Malignant: Antisemitism in the NHS
Watch our full documentary on hate in healthcare now – and see just how widely this cancer has spread in the UK’s national health provider.
The chilling effects of the Green Party’s ‘Zionism is Racism’ motion, laid bare.
A pro-Palestine student organisation at the University of Glasgow has reportedly attempted to ban Zionists attending university societies by designating Zionism as a “racist ideology”.
The group, Glasgow University Justice for Palestine Society, is understood to have distributed flyers during a freshers’ fair urging other student societies to change their constitutions by listing Zionism as a form of racism in their membership policies, in order to join “the campaign to create a Zionist-free campus”.
Thankfully, Glasgow University’s Students’ Representative Council has reportedly confirmed it will not approve four proposed amendments to student society equality statements that would prohibit entry of students deemed to be Zionist.
By suggesting that these societies place “Zionism” alongside “racism”, “sexism” and other forms of bigotry which should, quite rightly, not be tolerated in university societies, the simple belief that Jewish people have the right to a home is once again being completely distorted to justify anti-Jewish exclusion. The vast majority of British Jews identify as Zionist.
This is the impact of the Green Party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion, which has emboldened groups like these to follow suit and openly discriminate against those who believe in what is an integral part of Jewish identity.
That is all the more reason for us to have referred the Greens to the EHRC.

“A classroom is a place for teaching, not for political indoctrination.”
CAA’s Director of Investigations and Enforcement Stephen Silverman spoke on GB News about Sir David Bell’s review of antisemitism in schools, which has implemented several of our recommendations, including on the wearing of political badges in the classroom.
@SSilvUK
Sir David Bell’s significant report on antisemitism in schools showcases what Jewish children are going through in this country.
British schools have utterly failed in their duty of care to protect their Jewish pupils and educate their peers not to hate Jews, while Jewish schools are burdened with security responsibilities on top of education.
The Jewish community already knows all this, but it's vital that the country starts to understand the gravity of what is happening. It’s not just the victims who matter but the perpetrators, who are the future citizens and leaders of this country – and their teachers.
No doubt politicians will emerge to wishfully insist – contrary to the evidence – that ‘there is no place for antisemitism in our schools’. But of course there is – there is lots of it. David Bell has shown that.
The discussion must now turn to why. Pupils are being radicalised online, at home and even in the classroom, often with the blessing of callous, agenda-driven teachers’ unions obsessed with demonising the Jewish state and anyone who dares identify with it, as naturally most Jews do.
Sir David’s recommendations are a first step to tackle this abominable development in British education, and we welcome the adoption or mirroring of many recommendations that we made to the review.
The Government, relevant bodies and schools must urgently move on to implementation – before it’s too late.
Sir David Bell has published his much-anticipated report.
• One in five young people have witnessed or experienced antisemitism
• Almost three in five Jewish youngsters have done so, as have many teachers
• This includes stereotypes, jokes and derogatory comments in social spaces, classrooms and online
• Pupils and students are the most common perpetrators
• Children don’t bother reporting incidents because they don’t believe they will be addressed
• Teachers report high levels of workplace antisemitism and inadequate organisational responses
• This problem has been growing for a decade, reaching high levels since October 2023
• Teachers and administrators think they know more about antisemitism and how to tackle it than they actually do
• There is no consistent system-wide reference point for identifying and responding to antisemitism, and while awareness of the International (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism is high, few use it in practice
• Antisemitism is not always recognised as a form of harm that may raise safeguarding concerns, and victims often don’t get the support they need
• Pupils at Jewish schools often experience or fear antisemitic abuse while travelling, leading some to conceal visible signs of their Jewish identity
• School leaders in Jewish schools carry significant additional safeguarding and security responsibilities, creating substantial workload, wellbeing and workforce pressures

Mayor’s employee suspended over alleged support for terror
Nabil Al-Kinani, an Iraqi refugee who manages the Mayor of London’s land portfolio as a Development Manager for the Royal Docks, reportedly posted the following on a now-deleted Instagram account.
• A video of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s speaking, with the words “Long live 7:;:4:;;m/(a:;:s”, apparently using digits and punctuation marks to appear to spell the terrorist organisation ‘Hamas’. He also allegedly included the caption “Don’t ever fear speaking up and celebrating the freedom fighters”, which appears to refer to Sinwar’s discussion of Hamas tactics within the video
• A reference to the 7th October 2023 Hamas massacre as “The Day of Glorious Crossing”
• A description of the Hamas terrorists who entered Israel as “our fighters”, calling for “the beginning of the end of I5r-34-1”, apparently using digits to appear to spell ‘Israel’
• A repost of an image reading “Glory to the IRGC”, referring to the recently proscribed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran
• A repost of an image calling on proscribed antisemitic terror group Hizballah to “hunt down the killers of Hind Rajab”, a child reportedly killed during the Hamas-Israel war.
His Instagram biography displayed a red triangle symbol, which in recent years has been adopted by some anti-Israel activists as an expression of support for Hamas, following its use in Hamas propaganda videos to mark targets.
This rhetoric is grotesque.
It’s bad enough that our immigration system permits extremists to enter and stay in our country, but employing them in the public sector on prestigious projects adds insult to injury.
We understand that, after we called for an investigation, Mr Al-Kinani has been suspended.
If the allegations are borne out in what must be a quick review, the Mayor’s Office must fire Mr Al-Kinani.
Fewer than one in ten British Jews are satisfied with Sadiq Khan’s performance in relation to the Jewish community since 7th October 2023. A robust response to these revelations may begin to restore that battered trust.

What do all these International Youth Strike posters have in common?
This organisation, which is believed to hold extremist views, is organising protests across the UK and Europe on 20th November under the umbrella of a wider 'International Youth Day of Action’.
The planned demonstrations appear to be a copycat protest in response to the ongoing riots in France. They are being advertised with the colours of the Palestinian Authority flag, so it's as clear as day what they portend.
Neo-Nazi graffiti on a synagogue in Blackpool
The revolting graffiti found at Blackpool Reform Synagogue includes the numbers 1488, widely recognised as a white supremacist symbol.
1488 is likely a coded reference to the neo-Nazi fourteen-word oath: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”, a slogan initially devised by David Lane, a member of the white supremacist terrorist group ‘The Order’ which was responsible for the murder of Jewish radio host Alan Berg.
The number 88, meanwhile, refers to the eighth letter of the alphabet, H, and is an apparent coded reference for “Heil Hitler.”
The far-right, the far-left, Islamists and others are all targeting synagogues. The only difference – sometimes – is the words they use.
CAA is aware that a group with extremist views is organising protests across the UK on 20th November under the umbrella of a wider “International Youth Day of Action”.
The planned demonstrations led by International Youth Strike appear to be a copycat protest in response to the ongoing riots in France.
The police keep refusing to restrict or ban Palestine hate marches because they don't cross the threshold of “serious disruption”, no matter how predictable the criminality or number of arrests they end up having to make.
But this protest, explicitly inspired by violent riots in Europe that have attacked businesses, burned down schools and town halls and targeted Jewish institutions, must surely meet the bar.
Rioters in France ransacked a synagogue and there are multiple reports of other Jewish sites being hit, showing once again that Jews are fair game.
This protest is being advertised with the colours of the Palestinian Authority flag, so it's as clear as day what it portends, and the authorities must act preemptively.
Thank you to @MartinCallanan, who referred to CAA’s investigations into Sarah Helm’s atrocious social media output during an urgent question on antisemitism in the House of Lords this afternoon.
Lord Callanan asked how Ms Helm knew about her husband’s role, as the UK’s National Security Adviser, in the decision to proscribe Palestine Action.
This is what the Government replied:
Campaign Against Antisemitism retweeted
Riots in France show how Jews are fair game
Amidst the chaos that broke out in Paris and across France over the weekend, even spilling into neighbouring countries, rioters targeting public buildings in protest also vandalised a synagogue on Rue Burnouf.
The synagogue was ransacked, with footage showing holy items and paperwork thrown across the floor in scenes reminiscent of 1930s Europe.
Posters displaying the words “Stop gassing us, we are not Jews” were also spotted on the riots, in addition to Palestinian Authority flags.
There are reports of other Jewish sites being targeted in France.
Whether Jews were always a top target or just a convenient scapegoat for rioters with their own grievances doesn’t much matter in the grand scheme of things: European Jews have seen this playbook before, over and over again.

Liberal Democrats rule out Green coalition after “Zionism is racism” motion
Lib Dem Leader Ed Davey has called the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion “deeply offensive and antisemitic”, saying he’s ruling out a “national partnership” with the Greens and any party that implements a similar policy.
Mr Davey fell short of instructing local Lib Dem councillors to withdraw from coalitions with the Green Party on Councils, but called for Green councillors to “publicly reject the motion” and campaign for its reversal.
His letter outlining the Liberal Democrat stance comes after the Labour Party said they will “bring any such local arrangements to an end” where Green councillors refused to disown the “Zionism is racism” motion.
At least two Green groups have now distanced themselves from the motion. Lewes and Mid Sussex Green groups both issued statements to that effect, with Lewes Council run by a Labour-Green coalition.

Man behind the ‘Palestine poppy’ is an NHS doctor who reportedly calls Israel a “cancer”.
CAA is on the front page of The Telegraph today as part of the revelation that Abdul Qader Ismail, a British-Pakistani NHS trainee paediatrician and the designer of the ‘Palestine poppy’, has a history of grotesque social media output.
In one now-deleted post, Mr Ismail reportedly shared an image of a scientist looking down a microscope at cells bearing the Israeli flag, with a speech bubble saying: “This is the worst cancer I’ve ever seen”. There are also reports of Mr Ismail appearing to defend the Hamas attacks on Israel in October 2023 as “armed resistance”.
The association of Jews with disease is an age-old antisemitic trope going back at least as far as the Black Death, the medieval plague blamed on the Jews. It also runs through the Covid pandemic, which antisemites also blamed on the Jews. It is of a piece then, that this doctor would appear to try to justify Hamas’ slaughter of Jews and victim-blame those who were murdered.
This is sickening, and even more so coming from a doctor charged with delivering equal treatment to all. We will be reporting him, as we have done with so many other medics whose obsessive hatred for the Jewish state has brought their profession into disrepute.

Yesterday, CAA revealed that a UK barrister has posted racist incitement on social media.
We can confirm that Usha Sood is a practising barrister at Gray’s Inn Court, and her primary practice address is Trent Chambers in Nottingham. She was previously a senior lecturer in law at Nottingham Trent University.
Ms Sood has a history of incendiary and hateful rhetoric towards Jews. This includes the following posts on her X and LinkedIn accounts:
• On 7th September, she asked why the Brits and Americans didn’t receive Jews seeking asylum in the 1930s, saying that “Maybe [they had] a prescient sense of how inhuman, grasping and genocidal they would become?”
• On 10th September, she called to “strip all dual British Israeli Jews of British citizenship”. Yet on 19th September, she also said the Jewish people should “give up Israel and move back to their various adoptive countries”.
• On 8th October, she posted on LinkedIn that “Every Holocaust museum does indeed need to add an exhibit on Israel’s genocide in Gaza”, which breaches the International (IHRA) Definition of Antisemitism by comparing contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
• On 13th October, she asked “are Jews condemning Israel’s genocide full heartedly in the UK?”. In a separate post on the same day, she said “here we are, waiting for British Jews to condemn Israel’s genocide” in response to a post voicing concern over antisemitism in the Green Party.
She has also expressed apparent criticism of Judaism as a religion. On 10th October, she commented on a thread discussing Israel, calling to “Focus on the deficits of Judaism”. On 1st September, she asked “Does he know how Judaism and orthodox Jew Jews treat women?” in response to a video by Rupert Lowe on the way in which Islam treats women.
Is this what passes as professional concern for human rights nowadays?
We are submitting a complaint to the Bar Standards Board and our lawyers are examining potential further action.
This appears to be a barrister – and the Chair of Trent Chambers.
Professionals in Britain believe that they can post this racist incitement because their regulators do nothing about it.
We will test that again. We are submitting a complaint to the Bar Standards Board.
BBC employs man who called Hamas terrorism “resistance”
Hicham Yezza, who is the principal data scientist at the BBC’s Responsible AI division, reportedly has a history of incendiary comments relating to Hamas and Israel.
Mr Yezza allegedly posted on social media that rockets being fired at Israel by Hamas were simply an attempt to “resist”, and he reportedly described Israel as “an apartheid, nuclear-armed regime – one literally built on stolen land and ethnic cleansing”.
He was also jailed in 2009 for “falsely claiming he had leave to remain in the UK”, and somehow managed to avoid deportation after his release.
He founded Ceasefire Magazine, where he had been listed as editor-in-chief until a few days ago. The magazine has questioned evidence against a terror suspect who went on to plead guilty to terrorism charges.
Mr Yezza previously worked for BBC Monitoring, where he wrote on the Hamas-Israel war, notwithstanding his professed views.
In response, a BBC spokesman said: “While we wouldn’t normally comment on individuals, none of this appears to relate to his time at the BBC.”
That response isn’t good enough. Not only does it not appear to be true, but given Mr Yezza’s rhetoric, the BBC needs to explain why someone with those views is working at the Corporation.
Given the BBC’s record, many British Jews may be forgiven for believing that he is working at the BBC because of those views.

Man arrested after allegedly attacking six Jewish women in Stamford Hill
A man has been arrested on suspicion of an antisemitic hate crime after he allegedly assaulted four Jewish women on Upper Clapton Road in Stamford Hill, London, which is home to a large Jewish community.
Jewish volunteer security organisation Shomrim also received a call from a fifth Jewish woman, who reported being punched in the face on Clapton Common, and arrived on the scene to witness a sixth Jewish woman allegedly subjected to the same treatment.
Video footage of the attack shows a man running up to a visibly Jewish woman and punching her twice in the face.
We understand that witnesses detained the individual before police arrested him.
This appalling attack is a violent reminder of the skyrocketing levels of antisemitism in Britain today.
96% of British Jews feel that Jewish people in Britain are less safe compared to before October 2023, according to our polling. A brazen assault on multiple Jewish people in broad daylight will only confirm to the community that its fears have been realised.
The only question now is whether the perpetrator will be brought to justice or whether the Jewish community will be disappointed by the criminal justice system yet again.
“It is an absolute myth to say that I don’t mention genocide on air. For me it is clear that what is happening is a genocide.”
Of course Jeremy Bowen thinks the war in Gaza is a genocide. Here he is making that claim to an audience at a recent event.
He has never found a sensationalist claim against the Jewish state that he didn't like, evidence be damned.
Given his record, nobody will expect him to apologise for this slander or any of his other misreporting, least of all the BBC, which rewards him for his biased and shoddy journalism.
Will our national broadcaster finally take action against Mr Bowen for breaking its rules on impartiality?
We won't hold our breath.
We have discovered further incendiary rhetoric from Sarah Helm going back years, including on ‘intifada’, Hamas, terrorists, Jeremy Corbyn’s antisemitism scandal, Jewish history in the Middle East, and more.
This is shocking from the wife of the National Security Advisor. At a time of the worst antisemitism in living memory, how can British Jews be reassured when these sentiments are so close to the person charged with protecting us all?
antisemitism.org/wife-of-nat…
The police have now reportedly announced that Sarah Helm’s post did not reach the criminal threshold and therefore that no further action will be taken.
So it’s illegal to express support for a proscribed terrorist organisation if you’re an ordinary person, but if you allegedly do it when you’re the wife of the National Security Advisor, that’s okay?
Aren’t we supposed to be a country where everyone is equal under the law?
With decisions like this, it’s no wonder that 89% of British Jews think the authorities are not doing enough to tackle political extremism.
Police inaction in this high-profile case beggars belief. It’s another nail in the coffin of British justice.
