America is having a fierce argument about its future. This Sunday, something remarkable is happening in Holland, Michigan. Jorge and Paola Ramos, fresh off winning Gold for Best New Podcast, are coming to interview Abdul El-Sayed. Two generations of Latino journalism. A Muslim American running for the U.S. Senate. In a city founded by Dutch immigrants, where nearly one in four residents is Latino. What an extraordinary American scene. Some see a changing America and fear losing the country they love. But look at Holland. Our history hasn’t disappeared. It’s growing, gathering new voices, new ambitions, new possibilities. The American experiment was never about preserving one moment in time. It was about discovering what we could become together. And we’re nowhere near finished. @jorgeramosnews @paoramos @AbdulElSayed

Jon Stewart: “Mike Rogers holds a special place of disdain in my life. This guy was a real pain in our ass in 2010, we were trying to get the Zadroga Act for 9/11 first responders and he was a particularly obstinate, oh that’s just a New York problem, he voted against it all while talking about how much he respects the heroes of 9/11 and I’m a patriot and it was all bullshit”

#BREAKING THE INTERNET Today, parts of the internet went dark to avoid being hacked. Government services across Europe shut down. @Wikimedia took supporting systems offline. @internetarchive briefly disappeared. Not because they had all been breached, but because two critical flaws in PHP—the software beneath much of the web—made staying online dangerously risky. The vulnerabilities scored 9.2 out of 10 in severity. @Cloudflare detected real attack attempts. @ThePHPF released emergency patches. The flaws had been hiding for more than a decade, buried in code that helps power roughly 70% of websites with an identifiable server-side language. What changed? AI made weaknesses once considered extraordinarily difficult to exploit suddenly practical. And here comes the extraordinary part. @wiz_io and Calif independently uncovered these flaws with help from AI developed by @GoogleDeepMind and @OpenAI. Rival companies, independent researchers, and open-source volunteers worked together to defend the same internet. For the first time, we can glimpse an internet with the intelligence to discover its own weaknesses. The question is whether we can build the collective will to repair them faster than they can be exploited. The next great chapter of the internet might not be about connecting more people. It might be about protecting everything we’ve already built together.

I don’t like the new algorithm rules. They are needlessly simplistic made to install speed strips and manage human output while on the other end we have an engine of endless and coherent thought. Eliminate the bots. And let everyone else speed. Otherwise, this isn’t free speech. It’s metered speech with a speed limit.

Bless your heart, Mike
Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers said he believes he will do well in Detroit after a woman told him she wouldn't vote for him but promised to tell everyone in her neighborhood that he was ‘100% gangster.’

Rogers: “My biggest coalition is Democrats for Mike Rogers.” FEC: The PAC’s largest donors are a conservative pro-Rogers super PAC and another Republican PAC. Several individual donors have Republican giving records. They’ve dropped nearly $5M against El-Sayed. The FEC already made them change the name. That’s the coalition.
If Abdul has his way, he’d release violent criminals onto our streets. Michigan can’t afford Abdul El-Sayed.

I'm a doctor and a dad. I rebuilt Detroit's health department, led Wayne County's Department of Health, Human and Veterans Services. We put glasses on kids, took on corporate polluters, eliminated medical debt. I'm running because it just shouldn't be this hard to get by in the richest country in the world.

GM just announced the biggest stock buyback in automotive industry history. Instead of investing in their workers or new product lines, GM executives are robbing from the future to pay themselves and their shareholders today. Stock buybacks should be illegal.

Thus is ACTUAL political persecution. If you can help her please do. I guarantee you all she didn’t commit a crime and is an American citizen. Trump had been trying to bring her down for a decade. I know because I was once, unknowingly a part of a plot to do just that.

Due to the recent attack ads in Ohio by the Ramaswamy campaign I am donating the maximum allowable by law to Amy Acton. I’m a life long Republican I don’t know @amyactonoh or her policies and frankly I don’t care. Some things are bigger than party.

Amy Acton's brother reacts to Vivek Ramaswamy using their estranged mother in a campaign ad: "...Our birth mother stayed married to Amy’s rapist until he died. This desperate, disgusting attack reveals exactly who Vivek Ramaswamy is at his core – a pathetic excuse for a man who is willing to hurt anyone as long as it gets him what he wants.”

Florida's Latino vote may be telling us something bigger than a shift between parties. My theory: the cost of living is beginning to outweigh political identity. Voters aren't necessarily changing their beliefs. They're reconsidering what matters most.
GAINESVILLE! They keep telling us Florida is a red state. But y’all packed that auditorium so full that Senator @BernieSanders and I had to take the rally OUTSIDE to speak to the more than 3000 who came out!   Florida, we’re going to WIN this thing! #AngieforFlorida #Gainesville
