AnuCal explores what happens when the idea of “seeing the year at once”
is translated into a practical, everyday tool.

Your Google Calendar says "7am Strength", "6:30pm Yoga", "8am Run". Week after week, in small gray text.
Add a keyword in AnuCal and those same events turn into emoji across your whole year. Looking back on your workouts gets a lot more fun.

Public holidays now show up in AnuCal as days off.
Pick a country in Display Options and its holidays are shaded like your weekends, dates in bold, so long weekends stand out across the year.
Over 200 countries, every plan, public calendars too.

How many of your plans sit on a day you never chose?
Dinner once a friend is free. No day yet, so it lands on the 15th and starts to look real.
Each month has a strip underneath. Plans find their day sooner because they never had to fake one.

Some plans have a month, but not a day yet.
People were parking them on random future dates.
So we gave them a place: Sometime.
A strip under each month for plans without a day.
When the day is decided, drag it there.

In a year full of plans, where's this month?
It now gets more room than the rest: extra space around it on the grid, and a wider column in the vertical layout (Premium), so its titles stop getting cut off.
No frame, no highlight. Space does it.
Built from a user's request.

I tried about twenty note apps. Most of them lasted a couple of weeks.
Turned out the apps weren't the problem. I was asking one tool to do two
opposite jobs: the place you dump a thought and forget it, and the place
you keep things for years.
So I built the first half. Wrote up why (English translation available):

Your community shouldn't need another app to see what's happening this year.
Embed your AnuCal annual calendar in a website, wiki, or Notion page. Update it once in AnuCal; the embedded view stays current.

Events can now repeat.
Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly,
or every N days — for a number of times you set.
Every repeat in the year you're viewing
lands on the grid at once.

What does a year of your time actually look like?
Lessons, shifts, appointments, calls — everything with a start time now shows on the year.
Not to read them. To see where they pile up.

Deleting a finished category took its events with it.
So people kept categories they no longer needed, just to keep the year they held.
Now you can archive instead: hidden from the calendar, everything kept.
