This feels fitting with the discourse about justice today.
“O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth! Rise up, O judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve! O LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult? They pour out their arrogant words; all the evildoers boast. They crush your people, O LORD, and afflict your heritage. They kill the widow and the sojourner, and murder the fatherless; and they say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob does not perceive.” Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge— the LORD—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath. Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law, to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked. For the LORD will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage; for justice will return to the righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it. Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Can wicked rulers be allied with you, those who frame injustice by statute? They band together against the life of the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the LORD has become my stronghold, and my God the rock of my refuge. He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the LORD our God will wipe them out.”

Am I crazy, or is it unreal that not one Canadian citizen knows what the deal was with the US that Carney walked away from? And now we are hugging the EU? Seems like dictatorship to me.

Before 2015, Canada had the richest middle class in the G7, the highest homeownership in the G7, and ranked among the happiest countries on earth.
In just 11 years, the Liberals tore it all down. Highest food inflation in the G7, highest household debt, and an entire generation priced out of ever owning a home.
51% of parents are sending thousands each year to finance their adult children’s lives just to survive under this Liberal government.
Canadians were raised to live, but are forced to survive under these Liberals.

The Prime Minister can’t seem to get his story straight about the “associate membership,” “unique alliance,” or whatever else he is negotiating with the EU.
Conservatives are clear: we support the decades-old free trade & NATO defence alliance with Europe.
But no EU taxes, no EU laws, and no EU open-border immigration policies should be imposed on Canadians.
Canada must be independent and sovereign. Period.

Friendly Catholic reminder it was the legendary St. Thomas Aquinas who said “if foreigners were allowed to meddle with the affairs of a nation as soon as they settled down in its midst, many dangers might occur, since the foreigners not yet having the common good firmly at heart might attempt something hurtful to the people.”
idk just seems worth repeating today...

Just finished a call with the Prime Minister to discuss the tariff escalation.
My message: release the text of the rejected agreement, recall Parliament, and adopt an emergency Economic Action Plan to save jobs and lower costs for our people.
The plan should scrap gas taxes until Canada Day, have zero capital gains tax on reinvesting in Canada, end the industrial carbon tax, green -light the 500 projects waiting for federal permits, and have ZERO sales tax on Canadian-made cars.
As the U.S. hikes tariffs, we must lower taxes for Canadians.
Let’s all fight for our workers, our businesses, and our country.

It will be difficult to oppose wokeness in the modern day church until we realize that the Bible clearly calls solely for the ordination of men in the church, and then to practice only male ordination. This is also the practice of the church, until 10 minutes ago.

The Haida Title Act is being debated in the Legislature this week. If passed, it will relinquish British Columbia’s ownership and jurisdiction to over 10,000 square kilometres of land and resources on Haida Gwaii. Haida laws and customs will govern the territory. It will call into question the validity of every tenure ever granted without Haida consent. And contrary to the Premier’s claims, the agreement does not protect private property rights either.
It's a big deal. So we should probably talk about it outside of the Legislature too.
The Conservative Party of BC is not alone in sounding the alarm. Tom Isaac, who has written 12 books on aboriginal law and been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada, is warning that the Haida Agreement has ambiguous and conflicting provisions which include a recognition of Haida title over fee simple lands. This could tie the province’s hands in the ongoing litigation (the agreement will *not* settle the Haida’s court claims) or if the Haida decide to assume control over private lands in the future.
Over the next two years, the Haida’s leaders and laws will replace British Columbia’s. This will mean roughly *half* the population, who are not Haida members, will be governed by rulers who they do not elect. Nor is it clear to what extent the Charter rights of these British Columbians will be enforceable against the laws and other actions taken by their new government.
Wave goodbye to democracy on Haida Gwaii.
This is precisely what the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) foresees: that all lands previously owned, occupied or otherwise acquired be given to people with indigenous ancestry or compensation paid in lieu. And it is precisely what the NDP is busy implementing across the entire province, aligning BC laws with UNDRIP under the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA), a law the Conservative Party of BC has committed to repealing if elected in October.
Does the dream of UNDRIP look like moral progress to you?
Not to me. Not anymore.
As a lawyer, I dedicated the first dozen years of my career helping indigenous clients to achieve these goals. I had the best of intentions, believing as I’m sure the NDP do now, that since indigenous people had lost power in the past the only ethical thing to do was to give it back to them.
But there’s a missing variable in this moral arithmetic.
Indigenous inhabitants did lose ownership and control of these lands to Great Britain and successor governments. But they and their descendants got something in return.
Keys to the modern world. The wheel, the lightbulb, the microchip. Modern medicine, which has tripled human lifespans from 25 to 75 years. And every right possessed by their fellow British Columbians. How could one ever quantify that? Will they be returned under the Haida Agreement?
We cannot turn back the clock. Our history is complex, with leaps forward as well as setbacks. And I understand as well as anybody that there are legal realities we need to face. So let’s acknowledge the racist boxes that have historically defined us and ask: Will we dig them deeper? Or will we extract ourselves, gracefully and collaboratively, from those boxes and onto firmer ground?
We must choose.
I believe we can have reconciliation now.
If we recognize our common humanity.
If we refuse to calculate a “balance owing” from our distant past.
And if we instead build on the legacy of our mutual trade, cooperation, and empowerment.
Let us rise above our racial distinctions and walk as equals on the path to peace, prosperity, and good government.

Under the NDP, BC has spiralled into a debt-ridden, crime-infested province where people are fined nearly $1 million, or even jailed, for expressing political opinions the government doesn't like.

We young Canadians want MASSIVE TAX CUTS.
As a 23-year-old business owner, there’s nothing more unattractive than 53% income tax rates.
It’s success punishment.

We just started going back to church, so I want to say this carefully, because I’m fully aware I could be missing something...
…but I’ve been feeling very frustrated with, what I perceive to be, a lack of passion for the truth in the church
In a recent sermons, someone said something like, “Hurting people with our words is wrong and we shouldn’t do that.”
Not “don’t be unnecessarily cruel…” which I agree with.
It’s more like… “don’t make anyone feel bad.”
Which is NOT the same thing, and frankly… I don’t know if that’s even possible.
And I definitely don’t know if that’s what we should be trying to prioritize right now… people’s FEELINGS, of all things.
Because if “hurting someone’s feelings” becomes the standard, then truth is AUTOMATICALLY in trouble.
So what is the Christian church actually going for, here?
That my responsibility is to protect your emotional comfort… even if it requires me to stay silent while you live a lie?
Because I firmly believe the opposite.
Lying to someone is wrong, BUT ALSO allowing someone to keep believing a lie is wrong.
I guess the point I’m trying to get at here is that I feel like a lot of what gets called “kindness” right now is just fear of conflict, or put another way, I feel like kindness is used as a shield for Christians to be passive.
“I’m not perfect, therefore I won’t correct anyone.”
“I’m not God, therefore I won’t say anything.”
“I might make a mistake, so I’ll stay out of it.”
What on earth do you think that creates?
It creates a world where nobody with a conscience says anything out loud, a bunch of people walking around confusing their kindness with pure cowardice.
Honestly, I just feel alone in the fight.
What happens when all the “good” people decide the holiest thing they can do is stay quiet because a pastor is telling them to be terrified to speak up for fear of being called “unloving”?
WAKE UP!!!!!
The Left is shaping kids right now and THEY ARE NOT SHY ABOUT IT!!!
They’re loud and absolutely relentless.
They’re also ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE.
In the schools, entertainment, social media, sports, corporations, and institutions that used to at least pretend to be neutral.
Their messaging is constant, aggressive…AND it’s framed as pure, holy, morality!
So… what’s going on with the Christian church these days?
Is your highest moral principle really, “no one should ever feel uncomfortable”????
Sorry for the long rant here, I just feel, like I said before, strangely alone in it.
As if I’m the problem for believing that truth matters more than feelings… like wanting to speak out against something that is wrong is somehow “unChristian” of me if it gets others angry, upset, or threatening… TOWARDS ME.
Maybe I’ve got this wrong and I’m open to hearing it, but in general, I feel alone in this.

The Notwithstanding Clause is integral to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and an unassailable provincial constitutional right.
While the Alberta government does not support the content of Quebec’s Bill 21, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Quebec’s constitutional right to invoke the Notwithstanding Clause as its government deems fit. Â
We are extremely disappointed that the Federal Government would risk national unity and a foundational principle of our constitution by attempting to attack the use of the notwithstanding clause by a sovereign provincial government in this manner and request they withdraw their appeal to the Supreme Court immediately.
