#Wildwood functions as a direct response to the uncertainties in both the industry and the world at large. Not only is it defiantly hand-crafted, but it’s about being brave in a world that has lost its magic.

idk yall I quite liked #Behemoth! Really fascinating structure that moves like a memory. It doesn’t fully work & gets murky at times. I also thinn some of the characters are underwritten (specifically the women). BUT the final twenty minutes crescendo into something that emotionally walloped me. Pedro Pascal’s eyes alone deserve an Oscar. Painful, aching, mesmerizing performance. I hope he continues to get to fully lead films going forward! #ChiFilmFest

#Elsinore — Andrew Scott gives one of the best performances of the year. He is truly everything in this. The film doesn’t quite match his level, but the emotional journey is effective enough to make it a worthwhile watch. Scott is my current Best-Actor hopeful. #ChiFilmFest
#RayGunn is a fun send up to the noir genre! Starts to feel a bit tropey and convoluted by the end, but the world building is so dynamic and the action so electric, it almost doesn’t matter. Tom Waits steals the entire show. #ChiFilmFest

Bittersweet, I’m sad for it to end, but man, it’s been a treat.
So many great films, but even more great friends/connections. Some old, some new. Feeling very blessed.
Very thankful for the Chicago Film Community. – at Chicago, IL
Andrew Scott soars in #Elsinore. We get to witness someone fully in command of their craft utilizing every tool in their arsenal. I was quite moved by the overall experience despite how frustrating the editing and direction can be. #ChiFilmFest
#Tangles destroyed me. Deeply personal, brimming with heart and soul in every single frame. There are some phenomenal visual choices that enhance the story and its emotional impact. Some of the best voice acting this year. #ChiFilmFest
Stoic and restrained, #Fatherland showcases a powerful pain and a fragmented nation in the wake of WWII. Sandra Hüller and Hanns Zischler are remarkable. Stunning and impactful cinematography as well. I thought this was great, simple but overwhelmingly powerful. #ChiFilmFest
