When a building collapses, the sequence of events that follow has become depressingly familiar. People die, officials arrive, agencies clarify that the structure fell under somebody else’s jurisdiction, fingers are pointed at the owner or low-level officials who allowed the illegal construction to take place, and an external factor is invoked, if one is available.

Problem of illegal banners & hoarding remains rampant but four out of 10 official unipole advertisement sites remain unsold
A clear disconnect between availability of authorized sites and demand actually reaching the official market
After glaring gaps in water-tanker services came to the fore during Delhi’s supply crisis in summer & multiple shortcomings flagged by CAG in GPS system, DJB has invited bids to set up platform that allows residents to track tankers in real time & verify deliveries on ground.
The CAG report on the functioning of DJB (which was tabled in Delhi assembly in March earlier this year) flagged gaps in GPS systems and stated "the risk of theft, pilferage, and illegal diversion of water is high."
