Don’t think people realise how far small acts of kindness go … 1. Turkish restaurant brought me free tea whilst I was waiting outside for lahamacun. 2. Man at Hiba giving me free chips with my shawarma wrap today To the extent when he gave it to me he was like “why you acting so shocked” 😂😭 Maybe everyone isn’t becoming transactional. Maybe there is hope 😅

So it is normal for people to leave a complete mess behind (or even just empty coffee mugs etc.) after using a desk at a co-working space? Cause ngl I find it deeply rude and disrespectful to people who use the space after (and even cleaners). Takes literally 2 seconds to take your own rubbish to the kitchen ...

General principle in life .... if you can't accept that there is a possibility you are wrong, even if that possibility is 1% or less, then know that you're (at least) definitely part of the problem.

Wrong question imo (with all respect). Muslims ARE already rich. And many of those that aren’t have a scarcity mindset (lack a barakah mindset) … toppling over each other to climb and push everyone else down (pulling up the ladder too when they do). And back to point 1 the issue is many Muslims DO have the money but we DO NOT have the deep rooted value system in themselves to spend it or organise in the necessary way (lack of unity is a big factor in this) to make a real difference. It’s very much each to their own dog-eat-dog vibes. When you really think about it you only need 1% or less of existing “rich” Muslims (rich defined as money of course) to "lock in" and sort that bit out for the big global difference to be made. TLDR: you need money AND deep-rooted values!!!
what are the biggest blockers for wealth creation for muslims?

With all respect to @Sohaibashraf97 who is a good friend of mine! I'm glad he's provoking the discussion (it's acc v telling from the replies under the OP that most people still think it's a lack of financial wealth problem)! That's acc why I feel v strongly about re-framing/re-thinking it.

Subhanallah man. Video started with her telling her to "Go back to her own country" and ended up with the sister giving her her food and her apologising ... SO many thoughts ... I will say it at the top of my lungs ... the most effective (operative word here is effective pls) dawah is NOT: ❌ Handing out Islamic leaflets ❌ Making the contingency argument ❌ Doing very academic debates It sure is interesting to listen/watch on YouTube but it's not what impacts the everyday person. What DOES impact people is your AKHLAAQ (manners)!!! ✅ Local mosque setting up a food bank ✅ Niqabi giving a hungry person food ✅ Muslim business man treating people with the upmost kindness/humanity even if when it means less profits (which btw is only for the short-term because you can be DAMN sure Allah will compensate you 10-fold in this dunya and/or akhira) - see Tex guy for reference. And before I get a flood of comments here is my PROOF. What did the Prophet PBUH do? Early days how did people convert to Islam? It was literally his akhlaaq. He was literally known as "the honest, the trustworthy" that Quraysh had SUCH a hard time discrediting him ... when they schemed so hard they realised all the tricks (like saying he's a liar) would just not been believed by people so they resorted to calling him a magician (which also didn't work). People converted to Islam because they knew that the Messenger (PBUH) was so honest and trustworthy. TO THE EXTENT that people that DID NOT EVEN BELIEVE in him and his message would keep their money/assets with him when they needed safekeeping. Imagine ... Now compare that to how Muslims act and are viewed today? Do we have a reputation as a community as being? The honest ones? The trustworthy ones? The kind ones? The gentle ones? The merciful ones? No ... more often than not the opposite. And that my friends is why we are failing. When we fix ourselves ... and ourselves first and foremost ... a LOT of things will fall in place inshaAllah. Allah literally tells us: Indeed Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what's in their own selves.' (Quran 13:11) I sincerely am terrified that we have failed so hard in this. We're world class at pointing fingers at everything that is not us for our problems. And I fall back to one of my favourite duas of all time: "Allāhumma-sta'milnī fī ṭā'atika wa lā tastabdilnī" (O Allah, use me in Your service and do not replace me)
The kind of dawah that visibly Muslim woman give people everyday is something the dawah influencers could only dream of tbh

And just to be clear I think these unsolved problems should be both Muslim-specific AND non-Muslim specific. This idea that all Muslims should focus on exclusively global issues imo is wrong. Solving internal individual and community issues allows us to better solve more global issues too. The focus should be spread out. And even when building for global (non-Muslim specific issues) there’s always been a tension I’ve not been able to fully resolve. For example trying to help people with weight loss, or addiction (smoking or pornography etc.) can be tackled in a product/solution in v different ways. e.g. weight loss Secular approach = do this for your health, your aesthetic (looks), relationships, and to feel better generally God-centric approach = the above PLUS your body is an amaanah, Allah has entrusted it to you, looking after it is rewarded and neglecting it is sinful. So if you were to build an product/solution for everyone you wouldn't include the 2nd category of reasons in the solution. But it's EXTREMELY important and should be the most powerful/driving for taking the action (not to look good superficially for others to admire which is most people's reasons). Anyway, my point here is it's not so simple to just stripe away Islam and build a global solution for everyone for all things. You're essentially secularising the approach and making it a non-God centric approach which imo is wrong. In fact, if you DID build a best-in-class solution that incorporated both approaches wouldn't that be adopted by non-Muslims (potentially a small % to start with but if it's truly world-class more) and serve as a type of dawah? Like "look this is how Muslims look at looking after ourselves" ... we see it as looking after a blessing Allah has given us. Food for thought ...
100% hard agree. Muslims need to be focusing on the *UNSOLVED* problems we face (and there's a TONNE trust me). If we actually spread out our effort among these problems we'd be in a FAR better place today.
