Polls don’t matter! Votes do! Don’t stay at home thinking ā€œthis one’s in the bagā€ and you don’t need to vote. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Republican Party is putting fake poll numbers out there showing that the Democrats are leading in certain races, to try & trick Dems. Go out and VOTE!

.@nickkristof on covering the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. Stick around for the anecdote at the end about helping a fugitive dissident escape. Would make a great movie. nytimes.com/2026/10/30/world…

Here are some tips for smaller accounts looking to grow. 1. Remove the number strings from your handle. Nothing says "bot" like Jane7252748 2. Use a profile photo. It doesn't have to be you, it could be your pet, a character, or even a coffee cup. Avoid emoji pics like šŸ¤” or šŸ™„which are usually troll accounts. 3. TWEET. And retweet things you like. Post original content at least every few days, so people can get a feel for what you stand for, and so people know you're active on here. 4. REPLY to accounts you like. This is a great way to be seen by others, and big accounts often discover people in their replies. 5. Follow and engage with lister accounts, but do not blindly follow everyone on lists. Vet to make sure the people have original content, and also retweet accounts you like. Look at their replies to see how they respond to others. 6. Try to keep your 'follow to follower' ratio close to even until you reach 5K. 7. Don't get mad or pop off about people who don't follow back. Follows are earned - not transactional. This never changes, no matter how big you grow. Hope this helps. 🩷

What a legend
Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

NEW YORK (AP) — Social media videos believed to be produced with artificial intelligence and linked to Russia are misusing real people’s names and photographs to spread disinformation about two Democratic Senate candidates in the final stretch of midterm voting. One of the targets is Sherrod Brown, who is running against Republican Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio. The video, which appears to include some AI manipulation, depicts a newscast and includes pictures of Haya Akbik, who interned for Brown several years ago, and other former staff members.

Every Texas bar has that one guy. He’s loud. He’s obnoxious. He makes all the women feel uncomfortable. He adds his drink to your tab when you’re not looking. That’s Ken Paxton — and I don’t know about y’all, but I’m done picking up his tab.

It was actually our 250th anniversary. Not that you would know — you spent it with the British.
Paxton: On July 4th, we celebrated the 200th anniversary of our country.

If you want to know why Americans from all sides of the political spectrum must push back on data centers, look no further than what Google just did to Finland. Google skipped required environmental assessments and illegally clear-cut 815 acres of pristine forest. Over 250,000 mature old growth trees were cut down. Habitats destroyed. Wildlife run out of the area, and into nearby villages searching for food. Worst of all, because the entire operation was illegal, the wood from the site cannot be sold or processed. So 800 acres of old growth forests destroyed needlessly in just months, for one Google data center. Donald Trump criticized Google for the project, not because of its destruction, but because he wanted the data center built here in America. This is the future of our beautiful forests, national parks, and public lands in rural communities all across America, if we allow this administration to continue with this lawless destruction. VOTE. šŸ—³ļø

This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...

Today, I joined a bipartisan, bicameral small group meeting with President Zelenskyy. One thing was clear: outrage over Trump’s decision to make it easier for Russia to finance its brutal war against Ukraine crosses party lines. My colleagues and I may disagree on plenty, but we agree that the United States should be tightening sanctions on Putin and helping Ukraine defend civilians, not rewarding him as Russian missiles continue to rain down on Ukraine. Every concession to Putin without accountability only emboldens his aggression. Trump is shamefully and dishonorably sustaining Putin’s brutal war, with devastating consequences for our allies in Ukraine, NATO, and American credibility. My colleagues on both sides of the aisle must speak out, stand together, and demand that this administration stop this betrayal.
