I see my students working on their missing work during winter break, and I’m so proud of them! It’ll be nice to start in January with a solid grade.

Also, this was very cool. Navy Leap Frogs’ first jump. – at Patterson, CA
I hate that I’m not able to be home to celebrate my favorite veteran, my dad. However, thank you @fleetweeksd and @sdmaritime for live streaming the boat parade! He’s at the back of the Swift Boat, which he spent over 678 hours restoring. 💗🇺🇸 – at Patterson, CA

I don’t often get to create lessons in my current job, but I’m working on a @Yale virtual tour and research assignment for my @AVID4College teachers. It’s giving me all the Gilmore Girls feels. I hope the Ss like it as much as I’m enjoying putting it together.

Hey, @Flipgrid! We love using your program for our ELs to get extra practice speaking, but do you have any how to make a Flipgrid videos for EL students who speak languages other than English? Teaching students to use new programs during distance learning is complicated! – at Patterson, CA

Getting set up for @Avid’s Summer Institute at my parents’ very small house. I might have to crawl over the table to get to my clothes for the next three days, but I don’t mind it. I’m ready! @pantherscms – at Carlsbad, CA

I love that #badeducation points back to the students and their newspaper. Students and student journalism matter. – at Patterson, CA
My dad, as a 19-year-old, came back from serving in the Vietnam War 50 years ago today. I wish I could go home to tell him “welcome home” and “thank you for your service.” #callyourparents #thankaveteran – at Patterson, CA

There’s nothing like spring break spring cleaning! I found all of my library cards, except for my very first @carlsbadlibrary tan and brown one from when I was five or so. I wish I had my original one!

I’ve been working in this town for six years and I’ve lived here for two, but today, for the first time, I drove into the canyon to get out of my house. I can’t believe how beautiful it is!

I miss my hometown and my family so much.
Good morning. We are out today on Carlsbad Boulevard to remind everyone of the rules. The best place to exercise is your own neighborhood. Let’s work together. #slowthespread #flattenthecurve #teamCarlsbad

On the first day of work from home, the power went out for my entire street. There’s water in the transformer box. They have to drain it, then replace the transformer.
I've been fortunate to have many strong women to look up to, but on #InternationalWomenDay2020, I just keep thinking of Celine. She was so fearless, funny, and kind, and just the person you wanted to be around. The best part is that you know she's still cheering us all on.
We are with the Aziz's in memory of the life of Céline and pray for Cameron’s recovery. More: crowdrise.com/CelineandCamer…

I went to the high school I used to teach at for a meeting today, and an ELD student I taught last year told me she was RFEP’d. She attributed her success to my teaching, and while I definitely know it all wasn’t because of me, I’ve never been more proud.

I don't have many plans for 2020, but I do want to commit to reading 50 books this year.

I finished a yearbook early, watched my mom recover from brain surgery, and switched schools and job title. I saw Bob Seger's farewell tour in Fresno, Detroit, and San Jose. I also saw Rod Stewart with Jeff Beck, Weezer, and The Pixies.

In 2019 I drove cross country and visited nine new-to-me states: VT, ME, NH, CT, RI, WV, OH, TN, and TX. I also drove through Canada to get to Niagara Falls and ate at McDonald's there. I've now had McDonald's in five different countries.

Seeing To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway last December was one of the highlights of my year. My only regret is not seeing it again.
Why’d I wait so long to see To Kill A Mockingbird? I was afraid @celiakb & this incredible company were going to break my heart. I was wrong. It’s the real world that breaks your heart. What Celia and this incredible company do is shine a light on it. God how she shines.
