Today under Trump’s Executive Order, Haskell Indian Nations University was forced to lay off 20-30% of its staff members, including teachers. Trump is robbing our Native college students, and in turn our tribal nations’ futures and he knows it.

Using publicly available data, @grist has located millions of acres of land taken from hundreds of Indigenous nations - land that provides revenue to universities, K-12 schools, prisons, and others through fossil fuel exploration, mining, timber harvesting, and more.

The issue is self-identification. @edisonresearch should have asked if voters were tribal members. It's the difference between believing you're native because of an alleged Cherokee Princess in your family tree vs being a Cherokee Citizen. Also, newsrooms should know this by now.
