"How to get away with murder" in Pakistan--make a committee, issue a report late enough that the national outrage over a horrendous tragedy has died down, and then blame everybody so that no one can be held accountable.

This sounds less like incompetence and more like aiding in a crime. Any lawyers here who can help understand whether the security or other staff who allegedly tried to stop people from escaping can be held criminally liable?

Fifty years ago, Congress passed a law to stop VOA from becoming a government mouthpiece. This July, as the VOA Charter turns 50, that law is being ignored. #SaveVOA #VOACharter50
This is an important and urgent conversation that all stakeholders, especially all the political parties, should be having in Pakistan.
258 million today. 390 million by 2050. #Pakistan’s population and jobs agendas are not separate conversations — they are the same conversation. It’s about #People.

An interesting sidebar to the #IranWar. Pakistan has been struggling for years to jump start the use of Gwadar port but has faced hurdles due to its location in Balochistan and subsequent security challenges, as well as planning and infrastructure issues.
So far in April, Gwadar has handled around 11,000 standard shipping containers. For a port that handled around 8,300 containers in all of 2025 and historically has not seen more than 20 ships dock in an entire year, the current activity is unprecedented. buff.ly/jvVRB9T

The Witkof Kushner cancellation is not the chest thumping tragic end to the talks that many are assuming. The Iranians were fairly explicit that these would be bilateral talks. They dont even like the two. There is intense diplomacy at play this weekend.
