Former President Barack Obama is condemning the federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar's alleged marriage to her brother, but the original probe actually began during his own administration.
Fox News Digital has confirmed that the FBI and DHS began investigating the allegations in 2016 before a Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney later shut down the probe in 2021.
Now, with federal investigators again examining Omar's immigration history, Obama is accusing the Trump administration of targeting her for criticizing the president.
Omar denies the allegations, while the renewed investigation raises fresh questions about a case that stretches back a decade.

New York’s Attorney General has spent years treating the office like a political weapon, neglecting the reality that it is a law-enforcement agency. The results show up in the numbers and on the debate stage.
Under James the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit’s recoveries collapsed from roughly $250 million a year under prior Democratic AGs to $19 million, and criminal convictions fell from about 100 a year to single digits. Public safety has suffered while the office prioritized national politics over street crime and taxpayer protection. In the October 8 debate she went silent when asked to name a single past New York AG she admires, then claimed “you don’t have to look at the facts and the law.”

🚨 Most recently a House Judiciary Committee report documented that New York prosecutors, including offices under James’s influence, were instructed to selectively downgrade charges against illegal immigrants so they would avoid deportation--even in serious cases. When asked about it at a gun-seizure press conference, James and fellow prosecutors went stone silent. That is selective enforcement that treats illegal migrants better than American citizens and leaves New Yorkers less safe.
The solution is clear. Vote for Saritha Komatireddy (@sarithaforny). She is a former federal prosecutor and former Chief of Staff of the DEA who has actually tried cases, worked for both Democratic and Republican administrations, and has made public safety and fraud recovery her central priorities. New Yorkers deserve an Attorney General who looks at the facts and the law.

New York's top prosecutors had a chance today to answer a simple question, and they couldn't do it. At a gun-safety press conference, a New York Post reporter asked Attorney General Letitia James, Queens DA Melinda Katz and Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez whether any of them ordered prosecutors to downgrade charges to keep illegal immigrants from being deported. They just smiled and blinked. Katz threw her hands up in a shrug, and somebody quickly asked for "other on-topic questions."
The question came from a House Judiciary Committee report released last week. It says Katz told her prosecutors to "exercise extreme caution" with charges against illegal immigrants and not to "get caught up in the label of felonies, misdemeanors." It also says Bronx DA Darcel Clark had staff use "immigration-conscious plea bargaining" and even offer pleas in child sex cases that leave out the child's age as part of the crime. Katz's office later said it never showed leniency to anyone charged with a gun crime.
If these prosecutors weren't bending the law to protect illegal immigrants, it would have been easy to say so right there. A district attorney's job is to protect the people of New York, not to shield criminals, who shouldn't be here, from deportation. When the victims are children, there is no excuse at all. Their silence said more than any answer could.
