Here’s a swing breakdown of Sam Antonacci, but here’s 2 other things to learn from him also.
1. This is Sam on an off day in the middle of the summer. One of the best rookies in baseball is grinding on an off day during a 162 game season…and you can’t find 10-15 minutes a day to get better…
The best don’t stop. They’re obsessed and always want more.
2. Aside from his swing, watch how he takes an at bat. He led the majors in hit by pitches and is truly obsessed with winning. His mindset isn’t to get a hit so he can raise his batting average. His goal is to do anything he can to help his team win.
He competes no matter the inning, score, and situation. That’s why he’ll be a big leaguer for a very long time.
Trending up big time.
Some swings from the start of the offseason this weekend!

Turn into the ground is a great cue for guys who stand up and lose posture during the swing.
The thought of rotating down into the ground allows the hitter to hold their hinge and transfer energy up through the ground.
Here we are using the short flat bat to work on holding posture and hitting the ball flush to the middle of the field
Kid can swing it for sure. Has come a long way in a short amount of time!
Some swings from today with @atkinsonhitting using the flat bat. Trying to create backspin on the ball while spinning my knee into the ground and keeping my posture over the plate.

Elite hitters don’t focus on feel good work.
They are always trying to find new ways to challenge themselves.
Here we have three elite hitters working on a tough closed angle high velo fastball.
It wasn’t all pretty, but here are some good swings from the session
Keep your tempo. Don’t let velo speed you up and make you rushed.
Study the pitcher. Make sure you know when you have to start your load, so that you never feel rushed or out of control.
Here is Enzo Infelise facing a lefty up to 97 with a funky slot. He’s not sped up or rushed at all.
Elite hitters slow the game down when the velocity speeds up.
There’s a reason why he’s a projected first rounder and the reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
This is a great feel for guys who struggle to turn above the baseball.
The goal is to get the bucket lid flat deep in the strike zone.
This allows the hitter to feel connection and turning above the ball.
It is best used as a warm up or a feel between rounds!
Give it a try and send to someone who needs it!
"Keep the bicep flexed" is a good cue to stay connected.
When the back arm stays tight to your body, you swing with your body instead of just your arms. The barrel stays connected, stays through the ball, and you don't extend too early and get long.
Swing with the body. Not just the arms.
Follow for more. Dm "TRAIN"
Both of these swings are me.
Same hitter. Completely different move.
When I was trying to pull the ball in the air, I got disconnected and worked around the ball.
When my intent was a low line drive, I stayed connected and worked through the ball.
Ready at release.
Both of these guys — Caminero and DĂaz — are loaded and ready when the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. From there they're just waiting. Read the ball, then make your move on it.
They're not trying to be perfect. They're trying to give themselves time.
Turn above it.
One of my guys was plunging his hands down on everything. No space, no room to release his barrel behind the ball. So we put him on the machine with a rising fastball and gave him one goal: turn everything above contact.
Step on the plate.
After you finish your swing, your front foot should land on home plate — controlled.
This will help your upper body stay on the baseball, not spin.
If you spin, it will be very difficult to get back to the plate in a controlled manner.
Save this and test.
Struggling at the plate? Read this.
A slump only has power if you give it power. Every at-bat is a new opportunity — stop carrying the last one into the next one.
Here's what to do instead: one at-bat, one simple goal. Step in with a clear target.
His bat was too flat at launch.
I want the barrel coming out of his ear. Look at him from the front or the back — the barrel should be vertical, right behind his head.
That's what gives him a cleaner turn to the baseball and better ball flight.
Barrel out of the ear. Try it.

Thank you to @ValpoBaseball and coaches @CoachABrian and @c_pletcher24 for the opportunity to compete today. I’m excited to have hit another new PR at 87mph outfield velocity.
