Figma acquisition shows how hard it is to turn money into software. You'd think for $20B you could build something as good as Figma yourself, but you can't. Software is art.

People keep asking variations on this question so I think it's time I added labels to our chart, or maybe some sort of timeline. – at Pa Tong, Thailand

Good business ideas... “I noticed a problem that needed solving and tried to fix it.” Bad business idea... “I noticed someone else making money and tried to copy them.”

Buyer: Revenue growth? Seller: Well. It’s low - BUT - there’s a LOT of potential and you can grow it for sure.

"Find an audience" <- Wrong. Can you imagine trying to 'find an audience' in real life? Walk around the streets until you find one? You build an audience by doing useful or interesting things. Start by finding a MARKET, and do useful things until an audience finds you.

All disagreements in life (spouses, friends, partners, vendors) arise from unmet expectations. Practice, and get better at, managing expectations. More confrontation on the front end leads to less confrontation on the back end. Don’t procrastinate the confrontation.

Success is more about the things you don’t do than the things you do. Simplifying your lifestyle. Restricting distractions. Avoiding toxic relationships. Removing destructive habits. Freeing up your time. Not hard to do the right thing when it’s the only thing you do.

The smartest people I’ve met: They retrain their minds to enjoy being wrong. They get a dopamine hit when proven wrong because they’re excited to be closer to the truth. The truth is addictive. In contrast, if you refuse to lose a debate, your brain keeps running old firmware.

It's hilarious when English people insult my accent. It happens multiple times every time I make a video. I can speak 3 languages and read/understand 7, yet they feel such superiority because they pronounce words differently in the one and the only language they are capable of.
