Update: Crimea is slowly coming back. 11 hours in, about half of the usual addresses answer again (from ~15% at the low). Recovery started around 07:00 local and is still climbing.
Internet in Crimea is basically offline tonight. About 85% of it has been dark since 00:47 local time, now 5+ hours, after a major ongoing power outage across the peninsula.
Officials blame the blackout on an attack on energy infrastructure.
Most of Crimea's internet has been dark for 5 hours. Since 00:47 local time (21:47 UTC) only ~15% of the usual addresses answer. Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Feodosiya; ISPs Lancom, CrelCom, Sudak-Net and others. Routes stayed up in BGP.

Russia’s largest social media network under attack
VK (AS47541), Russia's largest social network, lost ~45% of its reachable network from ~03:45 Moscow time tonight. VK says drones attacked its data centre in Leningrad Oblast and that services work as normal. ~27% is still missing 2.5h later.

A week on, Yandex Cloud (AS200350) is still at about a third of its normal reachable addresses, flat since Oct 11. Two of its zones (Sasovo, Vladimir) are still down; Yandex's status page says "limited mode" and gives no recovery date.

Yandex still at 33% only, this is going to take while.
Yandex’s status page now mentions it will waive all of its fees for existing customers till end of the month

‼️ BREAKING: Albert Heijn, the biggest Dutch supermarket chain, has halted online grocery deliveries after a cybersecurity incident.
It and its sister drugstore and liquor chains switched off their websites, apps and customer service.
In stores, shelf labels still show last week's discounts.
This is what it looks like when a country turns off mobile internet as drone defence. Fascinating to watch it show up in the data.
Drone defence on a Russian mobile network: MegaFon, one of Russia’s big three, was steady all week, then dropped ~40-50% four times in two days. Russia cuts mobile internet during drone alerts, as drones can navigate on cellular networks.

State of Yandex Cloud: half its main availability zones are down. ru-central1-b (Sasovo) since 8 Oct, ru-central1-a (Vladimir) since yesterday
What’s left runs on zones D and E. Gotta be hard to absorb: Yandex froze new capacity and is telling customers to move to other providers
Holy crap! Another yandex data center attacked just now. That’s now 2 regions offline. Only 30% of responding IP addresses remaining. This is going to be a big issue!
Yandex Cloud (AS200350) dropped again: since 04:53 Moscow time it lost over half of what was still answering after the 8 Oct hit. Its status page lists a power disruption in a second zone, ru-central1-a, with 84 services unavailable.
