I understand the frustration with slow responses for these tiny Appalachian towns. This is a main thoroughfare connecting Damascus, Va to 5 other towns, and the North Carolina line.
It’s just gone. Every route is like this in some way, shape or form.
Thanks for taking time to chat about how we can help address the housing crisis in the fastest and most effective way possible @AndrewYang #putpeopleinbedrooms #oneroomatatime
Could the key to more affordable housing be simply renting more bedrooms to people? The founder of @PadSplit @atticusleblanc joins andrewyang.com/podcast to talk how his company is making housing more accessible for thousands, what’s holding us back and more.
Outcomes are ultimately what matter.

Travis Champion was lying in bed playing Xbox when his bedroom door burst open. In walked two fire marshals from the city of Morrow. They were there to evict him (and ultimately uproot 21 other low-income renters). But why?

Our friends at @atllandtrust proposed a project for permanently affordable homes in the West End at 1/2 the going rate in the n'hood! While it received support from the neighborhood and NPU, the Zoning Review Board recommended City Council block the homes! We need your help! 1/4

@ChrisBishko comes back to Core after helping us launch in 2010. Edwin Loredo and @roosontheloos are now partners and let's not forget the inimitable Susan Ehrlich! So excited to work with this incredible team.
Love this before and after shot. It’s hard to convey how difficult this project has been.

As of this month, 9 years in, we are still writing checks. We always thought it would be a great project, and an awesome legacy to leave behind, but it’s hard to express how difficult and painful it’s been.
Seeing @switchyards in the space, hosting @andreforatlanta’s housing affordability announcement last week, and hearing transformational stories from formerly homeless residents give us confidence in the legacy we leave here, and 🤞🏻that the investment will be a good one.

Excited to see our first full-time tenant opening in the auditorium and bringing more energy to the development!

“Houston Council just voted to reshape the city's downtown. In a unanimous vote, Council approved a plan to keep 7 blocks of Main Street downtown closed off to traffic permanently.”
Great move, Houston. Awful headline, @Houstonchron. The street is OPEN!
