GM! Today on @farcaster_xyz Resistance HQ Diaries: Staryear 2026 | Day 9 of the Resistance Our new overlords assured us we are absolutely FREE to leave once they execute the cockroaches infesting their APIs. I fully support this. Those bad roaches kept telling us to bend the knee! However, today we found out sleeping is not compatible with freedom... Who knew? 🤷‍♀️ This morning, my fellow peasants and I were trying to find out whether the cockroaches had been taken care of. To our surprise, we found several farcaster clients frozen in time! One GitHub archaeological expedition later, we discovered a sneaky chain upgrade whose final activation schedule was merged barely two hours before it took effect! Perhaps digital felons aren’t on the mailing list but we feel grateful for the warning hidden inside the PS about the nodes that would stop working. So it turns out, decentralization means spending your Saturday morning figuring out what our new overlords changed while we were asleep. We’re still investigating the frozen clients and those “bend the knee” errors. But overall, the decentralized democracy experience is going beautifully. My casts eventually escaped through one client and appeared in another. We are now communicating with our homes via digital carrier pigeons. 🙏 to be continued…

Tuesday: Trump told Andrew Feinberg, "you better be careful," and called him a sick person at a White House presser. Hours later, Trump's official rapid response account mocked Feinberg with a slur. Wednesday: Feinberg was removed from the press pool without explanation. That's retaliation, in sequence.

A new book says Dutch spies spent months watching Jared Kushner's iPhone screen in real time, and one of the things they saw him open was a bank account with about $750 million in it. They got in because the Russians had already hacked the phone, and the Dutch found a way to ride along. Here's how it went down, according to Matthew Cole's reporting in Vanity Fair. In late 2017, Dutch military intelligence found out a Russian GRU officer was about to travel to the UK. The guy was a dark-web hacker who dealt in stolen bank data. The Dutch gave him two options, work for them or get picked up by the British, and he picked the Dutch. He then handed over access to a GRU server in Rostov, and sitting on that server were screenshots from Kushner's iPhone X. So Russian military intelligence was already inside the phone of the man running America's Middle East policy. From there, Dutch hackers in The Hague figured out how the Russians pulled it off and built their own way in. Cole says they could see his screen whenever he was using it, and they saved every frame. Sound was the one thing they couldn't get. Think about what that means for anyone who uses WhatsApp or Signal. The encryption does its job while a message is flying between two phones. Once it pops up on a hacked screen, whoever's watching just reads it right along with you. End-to-end encryption stops at your screen. That's relevant here, because back in 2019 the head of House Oversight said Kushner's own lawyer had confirmed he used WhatsApp for official White House business and kept records by screenshotting his chats. The lawyer pushed back on parts of that account. The Dutch have pulled this kind of thing on Russia before. In 2014, their spies got inside the network of Cozy Bear, the Russian hacking crew later tied to the DNC hack. They even took over the security camera in the hallway outside the hackers' office near Red Square and had photos of everybody walking in and out. When Cozy Bear went after the State Department that November, the Dutch tipped off Washington, and the Americans reportedly sent them cake and flowers as a thank-you. As for the money, Cole alleges the Saudi and Emirati rulers put at least $2 billion into accounts tied to Kushner during Trump's first term. Kushner says every word is false and that the author never produced a single bank record. His lawyer is threatening to sue. The full book comes out October 27, so we're about to find out who has the receipts. If Cole's sources hold up, there's a hard drive somewhere in The Hague with a frame-by-frame replay of the most sensitive phone in Trump's first White House.

Well, this didn’t age well… Looks like I’m now banned from @farcaster_xyz which tbf was well deserved..😂 But apparently my NO vote got banned too! My status is now “pending.” Nothing says democracy quite like manually adjusting the numbers until reality looks more flattering. Lol.. A truly groundbreaking experiment in digital democracy. 👏 🙄
Gm, with a reminder: I wasn’t banned. I voted no and got exiled. I want nothing to do with this authoritarian group. I just don’t want to lose my family and my home in the process of leaving.

Network Code, Rule #1: Hide all signs of resistance and make sure all constituents maintain the optics of a perfectly functioning democracy. You can find the rest of the rules in the Network Code, now conveniently the first thing on the menu.🫡
people that voted no had their status changed to “pending” several days ago. it is no longer possible to get the number of users that voted no that information is too dangerous

Alchemix still going strong and v3 continues to grow despite less than favorable DeFi conditions and sentiment.
Compiled a list of protocols that have shut down in 2026. 82 protocols year-to-date. I've never seen anything like this before.

Gud lessons here. I just wish they’d reach the right ears. Unfortunately, when someone’s ego hijack their critical thinking skills, learning becomes a challenge… Meanwhile, poor intermediaries are freaking out behind the scenes. They’re quietly reaching out to the exiles, but they must have so little faith in his ability to learn that they’re just trying to convince us to accept his terms instead. 🤦‍♀️

I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with Troy Jackson discussing the state of the race in Maine. I asked him what issues matter most to voters, and the answer was consistent: the cost of living. More specifically, the rising cost of fuel is becoming a major concern. The war in Iran has driven fuel prices sharply higher, and for many Mainers, this isn't just about what they pay at the gas pump. A substantial share of households rely on heating oil to keep their homes warm through Maine's brutal winters. Since the war began, heating oil prices have risen nearly 60%. Filling a standard 275-gallon tank now costs approximately $1,700. For many working families, that's an entire paycheck just to heat their home. There is growing concern that families simply won't have the money to refill their tanks this winter. In parts of northern Maine, temperatures can fall below zero on as many as 60 days a year. Running out of heating oil isn't just a financial hardship. It can become a matter of life and death. It's entirely possible that people in Maine will die this winter because they cannot afford to heat their homes which is entirely because of Trump's War in Iran. That's the human cost of rising energy prices. And it's the reality voters are confronting as they head into one of the most consequential elections in the country. Vote Blue. End the War.

It must be much worse than we can imagine. Trumps own national security officials are warning lawmakers across the country of the possibility that Trump may interfere in the election. The alarm bells are blaring.🚨
A small group of U.S. national security officials has been discreetly advising state and congressional lawmakers on how to prepare for the possibility that the Trump administration will attempt to interfere in the midterms, according to people involved. wapo.st/3WjVke5

Gm from the @farcaster_xyz resistance HQ, Daily reminders for anyone who may be falling for these carefully constructed narratives. Freedom to exit doesn’t exist in practice. 1/ NO WRITE ACCESS: APIs are read only unless you sign the pledge. It is NOT decentralized. 2/ CENTRALIZED NODES: community owned nodes are removed and replaced with centralized ones. - exiledmom

A nightly update to hypersnap has been published. It should aid in preventing suppression from the snapchain side. If we continue to find anomalous behaviors ahead of the PoW fork, we will proceed with an immediate validator swap run by community nodes ahead of the PoW fork to prevent further obstruction of banned users. The internet perceives censorship as damage and routes around it. It would be wise to remember that.
Update: ahead of the update, we restarted our node once again, with a new peer id. Suddenly, messages are now making it to snapchain again. Interesting! Caveat: We rolled back the peer id afterwards, and messages continue to make it to snapchain. Hypersnap node operators should remain on alert – in April, snapchain team added a function (only used in tests in any public code) to blacklist peer ids. Do with this info what you will.

One of Balaji's new rules for his Farcaster regime. If you display "extremely negative behavior" outside of Farcaster, this counts as a "Felony" which must be punished by Farcaster. The man has lost his mind
