i kept waiting for the next big win to share here. that’s how i slowly stopped building in public. 3 years ago, my friend saeed and i started lindo.ai. before that, i’d been a co-founder at 3 startups. the routine was familiar: hire people for development, marketing, sales, and support. work out equity, onboard the team, run daily standups. and somewhere between all of that, keep fundraising. none of those startups worked out. i learned a lot, but i wanted to try a different way. then i joined X and found the build in public community. people were building products with small teams, sharing their progress, and figuring things out together. that felt like something i wanted to be part of. so saeed and i bootstrapped lindo. no investors. no funding. just the two of us handling development, marketing, sales, support, everything. i shared what we were working on every day. people gave feedback, and we kept improving it. we launched on Product Hunt 3 years ago and eventually grew lindo to 30k users. but a few months after launch, i started sharing less. most of my posts had been about wins. without really noticing, i’d made that the requirement for posting. a bigger milestone. a better number. something worth everyone’s attention. so i waited. and the longer i waited, the harder it became to come back with a simple update. the last 2.5 years have been full of building. i just stopped sharing most of it. looking back, there was plenty to talk about. decisions we made, things we tried, things that didn’t work. i was too busy waiting for the good news. coming back feels awkward, honestly. but i want to share the work again, while i’m doing it. starting with this post.
