Planning to build an adobe chapel like this at some point in the next five or ten years. Should be enough time for me to decide what saint to dedicate it to

Went to the Functiòn at the mission I've been working on. Mass for St. Isadore, a little procession, and a good meal. First such event in 15 or so years, these things don't just happen "naturally" anymore, someone really has to make it happen. The church is actually on entirely private land 12 miles inside a big ranch and the owners have gone above and beyond to keep all this going, very high class people.

Whenever I'm in Latin America or the Caribbean, I'm reminded of just how much better Mexican food is than anything else in the region.

This is my little friend. We help each other out. He eats mosquitos that find their way into my room and I remember not to squish him when I close the window.

Imagine living in a house made of plywood. Imagine raising your kids in a plywood house. Imagine building a plywood house where your grandchildren could one day live.

Now that I live in an earthen house whenever I go into a new build conventional house I can literally smell the off-gassing of the plywood or plastic or whatever it is

People who are serious about the climate do things like plant trees, stop clearcutting of forests, build human scaled neighborhoods, restore oyster reefs etc. People who are unserious about the climate fiddle with emission rights figures, whine about carbon emissions on TV talk shows, vote "green", build wind power "somewhere else", and blame weather etc. umbc.edu/stories/oyster-reef…
