Valorant might have a cheater problem right now. Since a few weeks I ask myself if this is a temporary spike or if the economics are changing. Im not deep enough in this topic to really judge it. But when I look at other fields right now, security, software, anything where finding and fixing is a race, the same pattern shows up everywhere. So maybe its a trend. Because the hard part of a cheat was never the aimbot. It was the reverse engineering: finding the right structures in memory, updating offsets after every patch, writing a driver that survives kernel-level scanning. Slow, skilled, expensive. If AI makes this cheap, detection is always one step behind. So maybe the spike is not more cheaters, but the same cheaters with a much higher iteration speed?

The final of all finals. One last chance to ascend. This is the story of the VALORANT game that lasted 30 hours youtu.be/SCLoucJGOFQ

Crazy that Riot once again only picks teams from what feels like 3 countries in Europe.. not sure how much sense that makes for growing the game itself in the long run

The performance score change in ranked is nice. It shifts the focus away from kills and puts winning first. Definitely the right direction and a lot of the people I see crying about it should ask themselves what they re actually playing for. Theres a good reason platforms like FACEIT dont use performance multipliers. In my opinion the best solution would be to drop all bonuses entirely. Still this is a better approach than before.

Saudi money is drying up and let me tell you, the current esports landscape is NOT ready for that.
LIV Golf has filed for bankruptcy protection as it attempts to restructure after Saudi Arabia withdrew its multibillion-dollar funding - a move that means all its players are free to leave.

The level of the top teams in T2 has been at a similar level for 2-3 years now - its just the first time we’re actually letting them compete properly against each other. For most people who are active in that scene, this is not really that big of a surprise either. When I look back at teams like Apeks / Acend in 2023 that didnt manage to get promoted back then - with players like Keiko, Magnum, Monsterr, Musashi - Im pretty sure those teams still could have kept up well with the bottom Tier1 teams of that era.
ok time to say it: the reason why VCT EMEA has all these Challenger teams defeating the ‘old guard’ is due to the region becoming more and more stagnant.

After all these years, having a DACH team with 2 DACH players performing like this is so beautiful to watch. I hope this gives things another boost going forward

Typical esports talent thing a bit of success and suddenly they think they know everything. Genuinely glad hes recovered, looked really bad for a while. But playing Sova for a few years isnt a medical degree, and researching your own illness doesnt make you an expert on others

I usually don’t tweet about these type of things often, but I’ve been seeing it a lot particularly in Valorant and in the last couple years. It does not matter how popular, hard working, or talented someone is, there will always be consequences. I don’t know when this idea got lost for so many people over the last couple years, but it was a very well-known thing when I started esports 10 years ago. Your image as a person is EVERYTHING nowadays, and its astonishing that orgs/peers don’t try to help or train for it especially with the increased use of social media and the influence it has our on life and work. Basically, don’t be stupid online OR in person, its not that hard 👍

One thing Id love to see Riot change for VCT 2027 and all lower-tier leagues: let coaches be on stage, right behind their players. Having them isolated in a separate room is soo boring..

Riots betting sponsorship policy was built around a clear T1/T2 split. Only "Tier 1" VCT teams in Americas and EMEA could partner with betting brands. But the new VCT 2027 structure removes tiers entirely. One competition level, open quals feeding into Cups, Masters, Champions. Partner teams still exist but compete alongside everyone else. So when that tier distinction disappears… who gets access to betting sponsors? Just partners? Any team that qualifies for a Cup? This needs clarifying before 2027 kicks off.

Most people who are ranting against the new system now and claiming nothing will change are massively underestimating many of the T2 teams.

I remember that almost the entire Shopify Rebellion team sided against her in that whole situation, and now the matter is just off the table? Makes sense
