As the first publicly disclosed agent cyberattack victim, we've had a front-row seat to this new risk. I formalized my thinking about it below. I'll be in DC tomorrow to share more with policymakers and at decoded summit by @politico!

Dario has written that we need to “pace the frontier,” and Sam has agreed. People may be surprised by my response: go ahead. You guys are the frontier. By any reasonable metric — market share, revenue growth, model capability — the two of you have a duopoly on frontier intelligence. You’ve also claimed the lead is widening because of recursive self-improvement. I don’t see what you see in the lab. If the unreleased models are scary enough that you think you should slow down, I support your decision to be responsible. But stop pretending you need anyone else’s permission. Stop pretending antitrust law has to be suspended so you can form a cartel. Stop pretending you need a regulatory approval process that supersedes product liability. Stop pretending METR is independent when it is intertwined with Anthropic’s investors and staff. Stop pretending you need those same evaluators to police competitors who aren’t even at the frontier. Most of all, stop pretending the motivation to slow down is purely altruistic. You face massive product-liability exposure if your products enable a truly damaging cyberattack. The market already punishes models that behave in unpredictable or unauthorized ways. After the Hugging Face episode, it is simply good business for OpenAI and Anthropic to trade some raw power for reliability and predictability. Call it alignment if you want. It is also just giving customers what they want. Pacing the frontier would also create breathing room for a more intelligent conversation about regulation than Bernie Sanders’ “shut it all down.” China is very unlikely to join a global agreement, as you know, and that has to be taken into account as well. So go ahead and pace the frontier. You are the ones setting it. The easiest way not to build superintelligence is for you to agree not to build it. Demanding your preferred regulatory framework as the price of that will look like blackmail of the public and the political system. So just do it. If you do, you’ll buy goodwill for the next conversation. If you don’t, we’ll know this was just another bid for regulatory capture — or an election-season psyop.

Cheapest way to experiment with new AI models? Opencode Go is $10 for the first month. It supports the new DeepSeek v4.1 Flash, GLM 5.3, GLM 5.3 Flash, any many more. Use my link and get an extra $5 in credits: opencode.ai/go?ref=D2JCBN305…

Ross Ulbricht calls out the Libertarians who claim Trump isn't keeping his promises: "Sometimes I hear from the very people he made that campaign promise to that after he freed me, he lost focus on the cause of liberty. That is not true. It is just easy to miss all of his wins for liberty... Let me tell you what he's been doing."

The most important thing on this chart isn't that GPT-6 Astra is #1. It's that Qwen3.8-Flash performs about the SAME in web dev as: - Claude Fable 5 - Grok 4.6 - Qwen3.8-Max It also scored HIGHER than DeepSeek v4 Flash/Pro, GLM 5.2, GLM 5.3 Flash, GLM 5.3, and GPT-5.6 Sol. I've said this many times, but if you’re looking for a model for web development, Qwen3.8-Flash is EXTREMELY good. And you can run it on a SINGLE DGX Spark.

Great way to see how each model runs. Keep in mind GLM-5.3 Flash will only improve from here. Speed: DS4F > Qwen3.8 Flash > GLM-5.3 Flash Intelligence: GLM-5.3 Flash > Qwen3.8 Flash > DS4F Qwen3.8 Flash might be a good balanced choice if you want a combination of both speed and intelligence. It also has full vision, which DS4F lacks. Frontier Labs are incented to be fearful as it provides a moral justification for staying closed. Chinese Labs take the consistent position of doing what’s good for all and being open. So the little guys find themselves in the uncomfortable position of rooting for the Chinese…

Introducing Grok 4.6. It delivers frontier intelligence and is a significant improvement over Grok 4.5 at the same price.

Quick tip for DGX Spark owners if you want your Spark to automatically power on after a power loss 👇 Go to your bios, and make sure After Power Loss Behavior is set to [Auto Boot] Some units have this enabled by default while others don't.
