Knowing every single little character you could see in the overhead shots was independently animated by hand was probably the single most mind blowing thing a movie has ever showed me
LAIKA's βWILDWOODβ has the largest battle sequence ever for a stop-motion film.
β’ Spans 12 minutes with over 400 shots
β’ Contains approx 3,000 characters
β’ 5 distinct sets were made β all combined were larger than the length of a building
β’ One person was specifically hired to track scarring & scratching on the lead character throughout the battle to ensure maximum detail
