I forgot to update that she crossed the channel!! One of the Nathusius pip bats we tagged in London (Apr 16) was detected in the Netherlands (May 5) and Germany (May 6). Impressive journey for a 7g bat 🤩 #MOTUS #batmigration

Pond bats are rapidly declining in The Netherlands, and roosts in buildings are being destroyed by insulation works. They are the Dutch Mammal Society's Mammal of the Year. We urgently need to know how the species is doing in other countries. #bats #ClimateEmergency @BatConIntl
