there's an "end of an era" vibe about this. It feels NI turned a corner over the last few weeks and it's clear the majority of unionists didn't support the OO over Drumcree. No doubt Lockharts back-peddling will break Olympic records.

Angela Levin is asking why Meghan Markle didn’t report her father to the US police. Remember when Angela admitted to Louis Theroux that a nurse had told her Jimmy Savile was abusing disabled children, but she kept quiet and didn’t pass the information on to the investigation team or to the police?

xitter.cf/barrymcaree/status/208… Main populism eg of recent times. NI still has *6* emerg surg centres for 5 hosp trusts. Despite NHSCT trust board recommendation for 1 service in *May 25*. Healthcare standards matter. Not yet met in NHSCT Surg amid ongoing collapse & excess locum use.
'Despite knowing that health reform is a life-and-death issue, most politicians have given in to populism.' Read more: tinyurl.com/76827mf5

Any word of your inquiry into Donaldson’s behaviour while in the UUP yet, or is it going to be whitewashed over?

I'm starting to clock that I'm old because I don't know who these people are but they’re laughing at the lad who stepped in, making him out to be the weirdo, when they’re the ones behaving like wrong’uns. And there are only about five people in the chat. You can also tell that they just regurgitate far-right talking points about the UK.

We’re not disagreeing on that point though. I said people have different views on this & never actually gave mine- what I asked was if women would find it harder to get support. You chose to single out one contribution to tarnish my whole party, that’s what I have the issue with.

Sex work is work that many women, and men, willingly choose. Politicians should work to enact laws to protect those who are being exploited however they should not over reach into impacting bodily autonomy by claiming all sex work is not true consent. Just objectively untrue.
One of the most depressing exchanges in the Assembly was hearing the Alliance Party argue that some women “willingly” choose sex work. It is not true consent, its exploitation, abuse & it involves women being treated as commodities. These websites should be banned.

This is exactly what I asked to every person in power, what are you doing right now to stop this from happening another family... And why I produced my safety guide book for children living at height. @mtpennycook metro.co.uk/2026/10/25/girl-… – at Ballyrobert, Northern Ireland

Hi @Iromg, you threatened to sue me over this story. Did you also threaten legal action against Kevin MacKenzie, who originally published it? In his tweet, he alleged that you arrived late at Richard Tice and Isabel Oakeshott’s wedding reception at The Shard, appeared to be drunk, fell asleep during Tice’s speech, then grabbed the microphone and delivered a speech in what some reportedly felt was a version of Latin. He also alleged that you got into a wrestling match with David Bull, fell over and were involved in a further physical altercation with a guest. Nigel Farage was reportedly heard saying, “Mike’s out of control.” If you believe these allegations are false and defamatory, have you also considered taking action against the original publisher, whose tweet received more views and likes than mine? Have you pursued the original source as well as me? If not why not?

Exactly a year today @SJAMcBride for the launch, every prediction has come true and service hasn’t changed. Nowhere more obvious than GP to be so fundamental to new model, to prevention and proactive care and to shift to out of hospital care, but has instead been decimated

A decade ago today, Prof Rafael Bengoa delivered his seminal health report; much has been ignored. 📉Then, 226,000 people were waiting for outpatient treatment; now 527,000 are. 🔻Then, 67% of patients referred for urgent cancer treatment got started in 62 days; now just 28% do.

Think I’m the only Alliance rep to have spoken about sex work in chamber this mandate & this was the exchange. As is clear below: I respect there are differing views - my main concern has always been ensuring women aren’t further removed from support when they need it.

Northern Ireland's collapsing health service is a scandal; Stormont knew this would happen - and has allowed it. Vast sums have been paid to temporary staff to prop up a system MLAs admitted a decade ago was unsustainable. Now even that isn’t working. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sunda…

NEW: A former director of curriculum in Northern Ireland has delivered a scathing assessment of the Department of Education's plans for curriculum reform, which she believes was “pre-determined” and “rushed”. TransformED is the department’s major education reform programme to overhaul teaching and learning in Northern Ireland. Dr Carmel Gallagher is a former CCEA Director of Curriculum responsible for managing the development of the 2007 NI Curriculum. She has strongly criticised the process, accusing Education Minister Paul Givan of “largely ignoring local educational expertise” when developing new curriculum proposals. Her views have been backed by Queen’s University academic Dr Ian Collen and MLAs who believe the Minister has attempted to ram through reforms.
