BC has declared a drought-related state of emergency. www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/d…
Biome shifting in BC will not be gradual, but rather marked by dramatic episodes: storms & floods, drought & fires.
We need revisions across the #bced curriculum to elevate Climate Education.

Great lesson hook for #bced Social Studies teachers. Put image on screen when students arrive. When they’re settled, follow with a couple of news clips on fires in Western Canada and start asking questions. Establish context, explore cause & consequence, consider responses etc.

THIS WEEK: Labour history will be 'Front and Centre' at the @bcfed Regional Conference in #PrinceGeorgeBC. Friday we hit the streets with seldom heard stories of the workers who built the city, shaped its unions, and fought for their rights. #bclab #bchist
