IRD numbers show higher earners already carry a heavy share of the tax load. After transfers, the bottom ~40-50% are net recipients. The current @NZNationalParty @nzfirst @actparty coalition is trying to grow jobs & wages. @nzlabour & @NZGreens just want more taxes on the productive - a recipe for driving people & investment out of the country.
Labour want to remove free speech Vote wisely people! Chris Hipkins is a disingenuous asshat
After months of silence on the matter, Hipkins has told a mosque congregation the day before the election that Labour will implement the Royal Commission recommendations the coalition dropped. Those include religious hate speech laws.
This screeching U-turn would bring back blasphemy laws to New Zealand under another name, 7 years after they were abolished.
Why leave it until the last day of the campaign? Because he knows fine well it wouldn’t have survived scrutiny.
If Labour form the next government and pursue this, we will fight them tooth and nail to defeat it, as we did last time.

Looks like Hipkins is going to reverse his rule out of hate speech laws if he gets back in. Here we go blasphemy laws. @NZFreeSpeech you are going to be busy.

TOPs low IQ, retarded, subversives say:
We want millionaire donors out of politics.
Yet Top is funded exclusively by a foreign millionaire subversive.
Want to protect democracy but their own charter is decided by their lone subversive owner.
Wong says neither is a hypocrisy
No it is fucking not "perectly acceptable" to have an undemocratic process if you want to operate in a democracy.

We already are one.
60% of households are net recipients once you count benefits, WFF, super, health & education.
The top 10% pay more income tax than the bottom 80% combined.
Government spends over 30% of GDP and the political demand is always for more handouts, not less.
Under Opportunity’s rules, any 2 board members can veto a coalition or confidence & supply deal negotiated by the party’s elected MPs.
If Opportunity holds the balance of power, that means 2 people from this list - none of them elected by the public - could decide who governs NZ:
Penny Fairbrother
Darren Savage
Scott Pollok
Dan Thurston Crow
Alan Wilderland (the party’s biggest donor, $220k+)
Dr Jackie Blue MNZM
One is a major funder. The rest are party insiders. None of them face the voters.
Doesn’t sound like democracy to me. #nzpol

The great renewable energy debate. Time for a little honesty
I’m increasingly f’ked off the way politicians talk about renewable energy as though we can simply flick a switch, abandon fossil fuels and carry on as normal.
Let’s look at reality.
Fifty years ago, the world was overwhelmingly reliant on fossil fuels. Today, despite decades of investment, innovation, subsidies and political promises, fossil fuels still supply around 80% of global energy.
And anyone who thinks we’ll be completely independent of them in another 50 years needs to take a serious look at how the modern world actually functions or simply be bloody honest!! (I know tough for bullshit artists)
Fossil fuels underpin virtually every aspect of modern civilisation. Transport, aviation, shipping, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, mining, fertiliser production, plastics and the supply chains that keep our supermarkets stocked.
Renewable energy absolutely has a place in our future. But it is not a magic solution, and pretending otherwise is doing the public a disservice.
Wind and solar don’t operate on demand. They require reliable backup, storage, transmission infrastructure and substantial investment to keep electricity flowing when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing.
And who ultimately pays for all this? Households, farmers, manufacturers and small businesses.
We’re already seeing the pressure of rising energy and infrastructure costs. Families are struggling with power bills, businesses are struggling with operating costs and energy-intensive industries are questioning whether they can afford to keep operating here.
What pisses me off the most is the lack of honest conversation about the economics.
You cannot continually push up the cost of energy, impose increasingly ambitious targets and expect ordinary people and businesses to absorb the consequences without affecting their standard of living, productivity and competitiveness.
By all means, invest in cleaner technology. Improve efficiency. Develop better storage. Make use of our natural resources.
But do it with a realistic plan, reliable energy supply and an honest assessment of the costs.
Energy policy should be about keeping energy affordable, reliable and accessible not winning a political popularity contest by announcing the most ambitious green targets.
The environment matters. But so does economic survival. And pretending we can have one without properly considering the other isn’t responsible leadership.

Hmmm you know how Opportunity said they'd go away & look at changing their constitution so that their board wouldn't have veto power of its elected officials...?
It doesn't look like they've done it. So 6 people we know very little about will be the one's deciding if Opportunity go left or right if they are kingmaker. Can Opportunity be made to answer how this is democratic at all?
Can anyone remember back in like 2006 a medical trial going wrong and the peoples heads growing to double the size? Whatever happened to those people?
