Unpopular opinion: Everybody wants a successful partner until they realize successful people have schedules, boundaries, priorities, and a life that doesn’t revolve around them.
She Hid Her 12-Year-Old Daughter in a Ditch for Nine Months to Save Her From Boko Haram
In August 2014, Zainabu Hamayaji made a decision that would keep her daughter alive but force the young girl to spend nine months hidden underground.
Hassana was only 12 years old. Her mother feared that Boko Haram fighters would abduct her and force her to become a child bride.
To protect her, Zainabu hid her in a deep ditch behind their home in Madagali, Adamawa State, Nigeria.
Then, she did something that made the plan even more extraordinary.
She pretended to be mentally ill so the insurgents would leave her family alone.
When Boko Haram invaded Madagali, families faced a terrifying choice. People who tried to escape were being killed, and Zainabu witnessed the violence firsthand.
Her husband was among those killed.
She was left trying to protect her children in a town controlled by the same fighters she feared would take her eldest daughter away.
Zainabu had heard that the insurgents were looking for young girls to marry. When they learned she had a daughter of marriageable age, they came to her home.
She denied having such a daughter, but they did not believe her.
They beat her repeatedly. Her shoulder was dislocated, and she lost a tooth during the attacks.
Zainabu realised that simply denying Hassana's existence would not be enough. She needed to make the fighters believe there was something about her family that made it dangerous to interfere with them.
So she began acting as though she had lost her sanity.
She loosened her hair, stripped off her clothes and wandered around the community. She rolled in rubbish and smeared herself with urine and faeces.
The woman who had once lived an ordinary life was deliberately making herself an object of avoidance.
The insurgents returned repeatedly to check whether her behaviour was genuine. Each time, Zainabu continued the act.
Her younger children helped her maintain the deception. When the fighters questioned them about their mother's behaviour, they insisted that she had been mentally unwell for a long time and had previously visited a psychiatric hospital.
The children were frightened, but they played their part.
Eventually, the insurgents began to believe the story.
According to Zainabu's account, they feared that harming a mentally ill woman or taking her child could bring a curse upon them. They even left a warning on the family's house telling other fighters not to attack them.
But while Zainabu was trying to convince the insurgents that she was mentally unstable, Hassana was facing a different kind of ordeal.
She was living inside a ditch.
Her mother had prepared the hiding place with supplies, including food, water and matches. Hassana had to cook and manage her basic needs in the confined space. She also had to find a way to dispose of her waste.
For nine months, the ditch became her hiding place.
She could not simply walk outside whenever she wanted. Her safety depended on remaining hidden while her mother continued the deception above ground.
It was an extraordinary burden for a child who should have been able to live without fear of being abducted and forced into marriage.
Zainabu kept up the act, despite the beatings and the physical injuries she had suffered.
Then, in March 2015, Nigerian soldiers recaptured Madagali from Boko Haram.
When the soldiers encountered Zainabu, they were suspicious. They wanted to know how she had survived in the occupied town and questioned whether she had been married to a Boko Haram fighter.
She denied it and explained what she had done to protect her children.
The soldiers did not immediately believe her.
So she took them to the hiding place.
When they opened the ditch, Hassana was there.
After nine months underground, the 12-year-old girl was finally brought out of hiding.
The soldiers took the family to a camp for displaced people in Gwoza, where Zainabu later told her story to journalists.

She better listen to the owner of the mummy before she learns the hard way.
I did Jadelle implant 3 months after birth, I was weighing 76kg. First came the hunger, then heat, then the weight. I moved from 76kg- 90kg in five months.
When I first noticed the weight, I started green tea and went on a diet, added exercise to it. The only problem was that I was adding about 1kg weekly, it was scary.
Immediately I clocked 90kg, I removed it. I have been battling the weight and till date, I have not been able to go below 80kg.
I hate poverty so much because why should one live like this.
I do this whenever I travel by air. I’ll familiarise myself with whoever I’m sitting next to, collect their number, and ask if someone is picking them up or if they’re ordering a ride.
Once I hear “I’m ordering a ride,” congratulations, you’ve just become my airport taxi. 😂
I’ll discreetly use my phone to snap the car plate number and send it, alongside the person’s details, to my DSS friend in case anything happens.
Once you drop me, na block straight 🫣😂
Abeg, those airport taxi fares are not beans jare😂

Lazymaxxing your life with babies, 0y to 3y
1. Don't buy a baby crib. Put as big a mattress as you have space for on the floor and cosleep. Preferably put it in another room than the master bedroom - sometimes baby will have hard nights but you don't want two adult zombies in the house
2. Go everywhere you want. Buy a sling or baby sack, put baby there and go for coffee. Visit a friend with an older baby and ask to try all the baby wearing devices they have, you'll find a perfect one. Have to admit it is much easier to do in a friendly climate
3. Breastfeed if you can. It will allow you not to think about baby food for months and go out easier
4. Yes you can take baby to that museum or rock concert
5. When the baby is older slowly introduce the same food as you are eating at home
6. You don't need baby courses to develop baby brains. Talk to them. Let them cook with you or help with the laundry
7. Teach kids that there are boring times of the day. I think boredom is just the best gift you can present them, we all need space for creativity.
8. Read to your kids.
9. Yes it is ok to use diapers for a longer time but then spend just one day on potty training.
10. Teach them to cook their own food. They will be so proud!
11. Kids won't eat unhealthy food if you only have healthy food at home

Good focken morning to the Emir of Kastina!!!
THE MOMENT EMIR OF KATSINA TOOK @officialABAT tinubu AND HIS CAMPAIGN TEAM TO THE WASHERS
“My palace is not a polling centre to visit every 4years when pressed during election only to vanish till another election cycle.
In my emirate alone, fifty-two schools closed because of bandits. Same number in Doka. Farmers cannot go to farm in 12 local government areas of Katsina. People pay up to ten to twenty million naira to Bello Turji and his boys.
And you come talking about DG campaign for Tinubu 2027. Should you not be talking about DG security for Katsina 2026? Where is Bello Turji? You promised to handle security. Bello Turji is in the forest, a hundred kilometres from here. Go and bring him, then come and campaign.
If you are selfish, my people will be selfish with their votes. If you do politics of selfishness only for your family, for your cronies, for your friends, and for your contacts, then people will also do politics of selfishness. They will collect your rice and vote against you. They will collect five thousand and still vote for who they want.
In 2023, you brought rice, you brought money, but Katsina people still split their votes. In 2027, if you bring the same selfish politics, they will collect your money but will not vote for you. And I assure you that.”

I don’t mean to be dismissive but a lot of (young) babes want to be sex workers without calling themselves sex workers.
Someone more intelligent (and interested) than I am will explain this better within 3 business days I’m sure.

When you borrow something from someone, the least you can do is show common courtesy. If you damage it, inform the owner and, better still, fix or replace it. How do you damage someone’s property and act as though nothing ever happened?

this might not be very polite of me, but one easy trick to keep your marriage healthy: have more sex!!
Yes talking about things is good and necessary, but if you find you keep getting easily frustrated with each other, or you feel distant from one another, you probably just need to have sex about it. It's ridiculous how many marriage issues this can fix.
when people say they just drifted apart it truly pisses me off
Everyone drifts apart in marriage. This is super normal, and should not be the reason you get divorced.
Marriage like everything else in life is made of seasons. Some of you feel super close, and some you do not. This is especially true in those earlier years. But by golly you have some balls and some courage and you fight for the damn thing. If not for your sake then the sake of your children.
People coming for Chai from another city is always so humbling. This lady is in her 40s. Has been to 2 international retreats and is coming in for my next one day event this weekend, from Edo!
