Physician reimbursement.
Can you think of a single thing that has gone down in price in the last four years?

This is how you ensure an MD is not writing the order because there is no universe where I do any of whatever this is.
Just @UHC making physicians jump through hoops to ensure basic medical care can be given to their patients. Triplicate wet ink 🤦🏽‍♂️ #makinghealthcaregreatagain #americanhealthcareisbroken #insurancecompaniesarevil @DGlaucomflecken

If this keeps up all private practice will close. Then we have real consolidation in the market. Then the real pain will begin for patients.

Great thread. Really encompasses a lot that’s wrong with medicine right now. Makes me sad.
High-tech, low-touch medicine... it's more prevalent than ever-- and it's not getting any safer. And the downstream consequences are getting worse.

When a school charges nearly $60,000 per year in tuition and needs to establish a food pantry for medical students to survive, perhaps it’s time to closely examine how medical schools exploit students who are willing to do anything to pursue their dreams of becoming doctors.
This #GivingTuesday, make a donation to PCOM Student Food Pantries so that every student who attends PCOM has what they need to not only survive, but thrive. Make a gift today: tinyurl.com/2bxjx3rv

In 1990 srgns under Medicare were paid avg $3,258 for a knee replacement today avg $1098. Considering inflation with no increase surgeons should be paid $7,656 today yet our expenses have gone up 2.35x,hospitals cont to receive ⬆️ reimbursement.

Revolving door of Washington DC. Works at CMS crafting legislation that obligates electronic transfer of payments to physician practices. Then starts a company that scalps providers %2.5 on every transaction. The insurance doesn't pay- YOU DO! and you probably had no idea.

How are the pros tackling this one? 50’s F. Unilateral deformity- other foot totally normal. No neurological or autoimmune comorbidities. Not sure why or how long 2nd MTP is dislocated. @DrAdamBitterman @BostonFootAnkle @FootAndAnkleMD

Could you ever devote yourself to particular cause like this man? If you think that you are a determined person, then try holding your arm in the air for 2 hours. I bet you can't do it. Meet Amar Bharati. In devotion to world peace, he decided to hold his arm in the air back in 1973, and he has been doing so ever since. As you can see below, his arm muscles have atrophied, and he no longer has use of the arm. In fact, many experts say that if he were to try and lower the arm, the arm would essentially begin to rot.
