Because a tool is just a piece of the puzzle, not the complete picture. 🧩
I dive into it this week on The Sphere (link below)
Let me share a lesson that cost me years and millions in lost revenue. 💸
We sold our CRM as a networking panacea. But guess what? Many users set it up, then ghosted. 🌫️ Why?
The Expensive Clothes Rack Syndrome: Why Tools Aren't Enough
Ever turned your high-tech treadmill (or, let’s face it, Peloton) into an expensive clothes rack? 🏃♂️👕 You're not alone. The issue isn't the tool; it's the absence of a system.
Ever been caught in the headlights of a question you didn't want to answer?
I live for those moments.
Here it goes.
Who have you been avoiding talking to?
Let’s talk about that in this week’s newsletter. Link below.
So… who is it? And why?
As much as it hurts, I get it. Learn why in this week’s essay in The Sphere (link below).
And my question is… who are you saying no to this week? (OK, don’t actually tag them in here)
I’ll be honest - even though I ask if they’re cool with me introducing them, I expect them to say yes. I expect them to trust me, and be excited about whomever I think they should connect with.
Which is why it stings when someone says no.
Whenever I’m meeting with someone, I’m half-consciously thinking about who in my network they should meet.
I’ll follow up with an introduction. I almost always do a double-opt-in introduction, where I ask each person permission to make the introduction.

How do you make sure your connections see you as the unique human you are?
Reconnect. Share a slice of your life, be it personal or professional. You'd be surprised how the simplest tales can forge the deepest bonds.
Remember, we're all wired for connection. Your story, your voice, is more valued than you might believe.
In the vast universe of professionals, ever felt like just another star in the sky? 🌟
The hesitation to reach out, the doubt that your voice isn't unique enough, is a sentiment I've seen many grapple with. Let's challenge that notion today. 🤔
Question: What's one small gesture that made a big difference to you recently? Share your stories below! 📖👇
Why? Because we, as humans, value authenticity over extravagance. It's not about the grandeur, but the genuine emotion behind an action. 🌟

We often believe that to make a mark, we need grand gestures. A client once spent hours (and dollars) on a perfect gift to impress. Yet, a simple text to another contact made an equally profound impact. 📱💬
