Someone unplugged the server, and as usual, I was the one to fix it because no one else could have been bothered. I use MacOS 8.6, btw. #yourcursedlife

kids are building new software bundles for snow leopard and your blackpilling?

Funny enough, I’ve been working on my 2008 iMac lately too. Will have a new, compiled in 2026, app bundle for you to install soon. (Also, PowerFox has been awesome.)

Everyone wants to hate on the iPod haters, as if it was blatantly obvious that the iPod would work. But it turns out that the original reactions/forum posters were mostly well-reasoned. Find out why: ben1777.substack.com/p/threa…
On October 23, 2001 when the iPod first launched, our forum commenters were less than impressed. 🤣

Apple really put a fully functional iPod emulator on its 404 page to celebrate the iPod’s 25th anniversary 👀 music.apple.com/us/MichiMods…

Can we sunset the browser company 🙏🙏🙏🙏
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

ChatGPT really likes avoiding/ignoring tailwind in my webapps. Seems like it likes to just go straight to vanilla CSS.

Go glass mode and turn the color off. Actually does make it easier to ignore your phone and not tap on stuff.
can I.... can I say something?

Reminds me of popup video on VH1
How the new Apple Music logo was made using actual sound waves

Who picks the music for these Apple teasers and commercials now? Just awful.
Can’t wait to pro and tell next week.

We’re a mere two weeks away from being able to do a historic update to the homestead cap in Florida, this is the kind of brilliant financial illiteracy that’s going to ruin the whole thing. Between this and the guy arguing with me that property taxes don’t affect affordability…
Of course you are eating the property taxes. You charge what the market will bear. You can't charge more just because taxes go up. Here is a simple test if pt are ended would you charge less rent?

What a weak message. The promise of AI is that you can toss random thoughts into it and research and explore them in ways that you otherwise might have not been able to. Unconventional stuff. If you take that away, it's just an un-fun robot.

This is more like contempt for their customers, but it's contempt by way of their own incompetence.

It appears that still no one has figured out how to apply an industrial SCADA system into a private residence. @SchneiderElec and @Crestron need to team up and consumerize their existing stuff, make it easy to bridge with home assistant. Apple isn't capable of doing anything other than desktops, laptops and portable touch screens.

I gave my iPad Air (2022 model, IIRC) to a friend who desperately needed a newer iPad. I haven't replaced it, have no plans to. Don't miss it at all. This thing is even more limited and useless. No one is buying this. Especially not with diesel priced the way it is right now.
Taking a step back, I am largely impressed with Apple's smart home launch today. I think $299 will make the HomeView a huge seller. But the biggest thing is they finally have an end-to-end strategy and a cohesive story for the home. I believe it'll work.

What an incredibly lame concept. The only thing they had going for them was understanding the weird Obj-C language + the SDK.
Yes.. that’s OpenAI’s Sam Altman at an Apple Event in 2008
