Nigerians are now expected to find their own solutions for electricity, just as they’ve had to do for water and telecommunications, instead of holding their leaders accountable for providing the basic infrastructure they are responsible for. In 2027, 😭 please go out & vote!

Lawyers, if you look around right now and don't see opportunity, look again. Clients nobody serves. Work nobody does. Work done poorly. It's all sitting there.

We sent an invoice for a trademark opposition matter to an in-house lawyer, who immediately complained that our fees were too high. I explained that what her foreign employer would ordinarily pay for a similar engagement in its home jurisdiction could easily be 3–4 times our invoice. I also made a point: if Nigerian lawyers are continually packaged to foreign employers as professionals who barely charge for their services, it will eventually come back to bite us. The same lawyers may one day have to justify fee increases and better remuneration to those employers. What we quoted was, quite frankly, chicken change compared to what a Tier 1 law firm would charge for the same engagement. Being competitive with our fees should never mean undervaluing our professional services.

One thing Nigeria teaches you very quickly is that personal discipline cannot always compensate for institutional dysfunction. You can make all the right decisions and still suffer the consequences of systems you have absolutely no control over.

I buy a lot of Nigerian brands between 50k and 100k. The problem is that you want to wear Hertunba, Wanni Fuga, Banke Kuku, Kilentar and the likes on a minimum-wage salary or budget. Honestly, this conversation is getting exhausting.

Please celebrate the small wins. You replied the email you were avoiding. You slept before midnight. You ate actual food. Look at you.

Sidewalks are pedestrian infrastructure, not extensions of market stalls. People shouldn't have to compete with vehicles for road space because walkways have been taken over. We need proper planning and enforcement.
I need sidewalks to actually be sidewalks in this country.

Don't use AI when you're trying to learn. Struggle is how judgment gets built. Firms have to protect time for it on purpose.

Mehnnn … so true!
I’m watching the value of young lawyer labor shrink in value in real time I’m watching the value of judgement and expertise explode in real time AI is a value multiplier for people who have developed expertise I’m better, faster, and more nimble Support team having trouble keeping up and I’m doing 75% of the stuff I used to rely on them for myself and doing it faster and better

Why should they be there ? They should watch executives blow up the money that could be invested in the system that will change their lives 5 years of CANEX . Tell me one system or platform or community that has been delivered to empower CREATORS . Just jamboree of $2M+ every year . 1. No credit guarantee to help Artiste buy back their catalogue 2. No actual distribution system to Caribbean homes to increase global market share 3. No consensus on DDEX Financial Exchange Data to help Creator monetize and claim royalties in any market I hope I get to speak to @officialABAT to defund our participation financially (if any) and allow us to access fund based on an open market rate revised by the CBN . We do not need Bankers and VCs eating operating funds annually while disbursing no actual financial instrument . It’s HORRIBLE
