1/ Today we’re unveiling Bombadil, @electricplantco's foundation model that reads the electrical signals of living plants and turns them into a continuous view of their physiology.
Trained on 7M+ hours of plant electrical signal across 125+ species. That makes Bombadil the most species-diverse model of directly recorded electrical biosignals in existence. The animal equivalent would be one model that reads the brainwaves of blue whales, horseshoe crabs and fruit flies.
We are @ReservoirFarms 🔜

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: A robot is now harvesting iceberg lettuce at speeds comparable to human crews.
@SamiRobotics has demonstrated what it says is one of the world's first autonomous iceberg lettuce harvests at @reservoirfarms.
The startup is building a multifunctional robotic platform designed to automate multiple agricultural operations, starting with harvesting crops such as broccoli, romaine lettuce, artichokes, and cauliflower, with plans to expand into weeding, thinning, fertilizing, and pest control.

“The demo is just 1% of the business.”
Tyler Niday, CEO of Bonsai Robotics, describes the work after a successful demo.
Drawing on his work at Blue River and John Deere, Tyler explains Bonsai's approach to machine design and field learning.
On the hybrid electric machine, Tyler says:
“Instead of burning 35 gallons of diesel a day, it burns about three.”
As of our August 2026 recording, he said Bonsai had deployed about 70 large machines with equipment partners since the prior year.
Tyler leaves the fuel comparison's task and duty-cycle basis unspecified.
We cover:
› Blue River and the early autonomy stack
› John Deere and specialty-crop applications
› Cameras in dust
› World models and simulated farms
› Hybrid power and utilization
› How does field learning earn customer trust?

RT @reservoirfarms: Grand Farm toured Reservoir Farms this week. They met our team and resident startups High Degree, @SamiRobotics, @bonsa…
Vibe coding let anyone describe software and get working code. Vibe manufacturing is next. It will come to the farm.
🚨 It's the big #Ruggedize video drop. 🚨
350+ attendees, incl 70+ deep tech founders, on a Salinas Valley farm in Steinbeck country.
This video is guaranteed to stir the soul for next year.
Follow along @ReservoirFarms.
A Watsonville strawberry grower told @AP his steam-treated organic plots produced nearly twice as many berries this year. Less fusarium wilt too.
That steam comes from High Degree, one of our earliest residents @ReservoirFarms.
Fewer chemicals in strawberry ground. ✔️

That is what I am home educating my boys to be capable of doing for our little farm, and if they get good at it for others in the region.

Today a farm robot is something you buy whole, at a price set for the largest operations. Within 10 years, I think farmers will build their own.
