How long does it take a Model Y Juniper to cool down on a very hot day?? A long time it turns out. Today my car is heat soaked in a parking lot in Dallas. The cars exterior thermometer reads 122F. At 2:35 I turn on the climate from the ap. Interior temp is 158F. Car starts to cool down. It takes 35 minutes (3:10) for the car to get down 82F. Then another 10 minutes to get down to 78F from there. And that’s pretty much it. It does not cool down from there. The battery use is eye opening. The first 35 minutes took 6% of the battery, and the last 10 minutes took another 1%. This is an extreme scenario, but I’m getting tint next week and wanted to get baseline data to see how effective the tint is. Right now the car has no tint, except for what came from the factory on the rear.
