Better Auth retweeted
I want to give a shoutout to all open-source tools (and their maintainers) like @better_auth, @nextjs, @tan_stack and so on.
It's easy to forget that what you guys build, is the reason that we can now vibe-code apps that are actually good.
A lot of appreciation for you 🫶🏼

Our CLI stack:
- @bunjavascript: compiles it to one static binary
- Ink (@vadimdemedes): the TUI
- @better_auth: social sign-in and device-code
- @arktypeio: end-to-end typesafety
API stack:
- @elysiaJS (@saltyAom): the routes, published as OpenAPI
- @nitrojsdev: packages and deploys the server
- @vercel: hosting
- @PlanetScale + @DrizzleORM: Postgres for identity, orgs, API keys
- @upstash: session lookups that skip the db
- @ClickHouseDB: every runs / jobs / top / usage query
- @github: identity and raw job log ingest
- @stripe: sling bill
Today we shipped sling, an agent-first CLI for your GitHub Actions 💫
Right now, if you ask your agent why a CI job failed, it goes and pulls the entire set of GHA logs and eats up your context window.
🪵 > sling why @starslingdev computes the run's logs and metadata, along with the evidence lines it matched to tell you why a run failed
If you want to know what your GHA usage is, you have to go to the GH UI and click around to find it.
💸 > sling bill tells you how many minutes, how much you're spending, and across which runner labels
Trying to understand what your slowest job is? You'll need to hunt around the GHA UI and even then you only get an average.
📊 > sling top and sling usage tell you runner minutes and cost across all workflows and repos, with p50, p95, p99, queue wait and a week over week trend

Better Auth is joining Vercel.
Vercel shares our commitment to keeping auth open source, framework and platform agnostic. Joining forces gives us more resources and room to focus on building the framework that much of the community relies on.
Together, we’ll also be able to invest more deeply in where auth is heading: a future where agents act on users’ behalf and need secure, scoped, and revocable access.

We've reached the 10,000th PR on @better_auth 🥳

i'm too stubborn to simply give up on the concept of @benjiDotSo after almost 10 years(!!) of iterating on it with different stacks...
2018: graphql backend + react SPA
2019: made a react native app for 6 months
2020: gave up on it and wrote kitze.io/posts/saddest-just-…
3 years of using other bs tools and being grumpy about them
2023: rewrote it in blitz js (JUGE mistake)
2024: iterate on react native + PWA + RN pwa wrapper
2025: time for a rewrite to @zerotoshipped stack (but next js sucks for this kind of app, add api, mcp, cross platform app, and many other things
2026: i want it all actions INSTANT AND FAST AF and next js is the wrong tech choice for a mostly client app, so i'm starting a rewrite with @tan_stack + @convex + @better_auth
it feels so snappy 😭
btw 99% of the customers abandoned it, there are like 3 ride or die fans but i know i can turn it around!!!! let /goal cook.

We had a bad time relying on a third-party auth provider and are now having a good time using open source, specifically @better_auth blog.val.town/better-auth
Happening tomorrow! 🥳

evlog x @better_auth is here
Your logs now know exactly who triggered each request. User info, session metadata, context... all there automatically.
What this means:
• No more manual user tagging
• No more anonymous events
• Full user context on every log
• Zero extra code per endpoint
Goes from "POST /api/checkout failed" to "John's checkout failed at 10:23 with session X"
dub.sh/evlog/ba
The demo you're seeing is an agent registering with a service, placing an order - asking you to pay using your own credit card for specific amount (using stripe) - and later letting you claim its activities so you can track your order inside your account
Will share more soon. We haven't talked about it much as we have a lot in the works
Someone needs to build auth for agents, aka identity infrastructure for non-human digital workers.
As agents become digital humans, they'll need to log into services just like we do.
Which means they need:
- authentication systems
- session management
- access control
That's the next big unlock in the agentic economy.
Better Auth v1.6 is here!
This release is designed as a bridge version as we move toward a more predictable release cadence and prepare for the next big things we're building here at Better Auth.
That said, v1.6 includes new features, improvements, and a number of meaningful fixes
AI agents need better auth!
We've been building a lot of exciting things on how agents authenticate, get granular permissions, and act on behalf of users.
Come find us at HumanX this week (April 7-9) - we'd love to show you what we're working on!
