🚨 99 problems caused by unlawful short-term rentals (STR). Problems: Noise. Trash. Lost tax revenue. Money draining out of our neighborhoods. Public services taking the hit. Path to a solution: Collect the fines. ⚠️We are missing out on millions of dollars in fines.

This is not just happening in California but also in other parts of the world.
My graphic shows all entire homes listed on Airbnb in An Daingean (Dingle), which had a population of 1,671 in the 2022 Census, in County Kerry, Ireland. It’s no wonder seasonal workers in Dingle, including waiters, bar staff, chefs, and others, can’t find places to stay: short-term lets, including Airbnb landlords and holiday-home owners, are forcing native speakers out of Gaeltacht areas. #HousingCrisis #Airbnb #Kerry #Ireland

Airbnb "hosts" that run unregistered "ghost hotels" don't belong here. According to local and county regulations, these short-term rentals (STRs) / “Ghost Hotels” are all in violation and do not pay their fair share of taxes and fees. (2/2)

The 2028 Olympics are coming to Los Angeles. ❌That's not a reason to add 31,000 new short-term "vacation" rental permits to the market. Just because the City can change the rules to issue new permits doesn't mean it should. (1/2)

The City must collect the potential $210 million in fines between these 11 locations. These 11 violators cheat the City (and its residents) by using up resources and services they don't properly pay into. (cont'd)
