CSU Pueblo took it to Central Missouri, and picked up a big 44-25 win on Thursday night (8/27/26).
Pueblo’s big win was the result of some standout performances on both sides of the ball.
🏈 Navi Bruzon had a great game behind center for the Thunderwolves, completing 18 of 29 pass attempts for 321 yards and 4 touchdowns.
🏈 Dedrek Taylor-Akins has quickly become one of Bruzon’s favorite targets, as DTA hauled in 9 receptions for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.
🏈 Carter Daniels put up ridiculous numbers of his own on the defensive side of the ball, accounting for 16 tackles (5 solo & 11 assisted), including 1.5 sacks, and a PICK SIX!
🏈 Jaylen Booth also stepped up big for the Thunderwolves’ defense as he accumulated 5 tackles (4 solo & 1 assisted) with 3 tackles for loss, including a sack.
Pueblo will be taking its high powered show on the road next weekend when they travel to Hays, KS, to battle MIAA foe Fort Hays State.
Here are a few of Pueblo’s highlights from Saturday’s win:

Big frame guy that can actually run! Should be a huge year for DTA down south!
CSU-Pueblo WR Dedrek Taylor-Akins (@bigplayta) is a player who could garner plenty of NFL attention, especially if he puts together a big 2026 season.
Listed at 6'4", 200 pounds, the Fontana, California native transferred in from Northeastern State and was productive, hauling in 35 passes for 514 yards and 7 TD's.
Taylor-Akins and Marcellus Honeycutt Jr. form one of the better wide receiver duos in the D2 ranks and should be a problem for opposing defenses in 2026.
