Good news for consumer tech btw
We're reaching a point where we have or will have more chips than we are able power in data centers.
Paired with cheaper costs of manufacturing due to AI, faster breakthroughs in chip sizes+ quantum, It seems like we may have a lot of overflow in the next few years which would make more serious local models accessible to average users or families and small businesses.
The whole "Frontier Labs eating all the compute" thing may be temporary. Until they get quantum at least.
