Alireza Sepahi, 25, was hanged on October 5, 2026, by Iran's Islamic regime for participating in the January protests.
Scheduled for public hanging in July, he suffered a heart attack on the way to the gallows, was treated and returned to prison, and the regime then finished the job. Recently, the British government imposed sanctions on Israel for building homes in Judea. Ed Miliband has the blood of Iranian protesters on his hands.

So tiresome. I have several clients in the energy sector. I provide forecasts of extreme weather events (temperature, hurricanes, convective weather) that are used by utility and energy trading companies. So give it a rest, I am not a lobbyist for fossil fuel companies

Calling out Russian interference in the Brexit vote while ignoring that of the US (back of the queue) and the EU … and then enabling fraud via no voter ID is industrial scale gaslighting.

In a Net Zero grid, you will throw away around a third of the electricity you might generate. And you will still need gas to meet demand in a dunkelflaute.
We need to end the culture of dishonesty at DESNZ and the Climate Change Committee.

The Royal Society thinks we'll need 60 - 100 TWh of long term storage to prevent lights out in a wind powered Britain. Since that will cost about £5 trillion per decade in batteries, they propose hydrogen. That throws away two thirds of the most expensive electricity in the world in the round trip.
Andrew's right.

The Iranian govt has executed over 2,000 people in the past 12 months and 9 of them were public (this does not include the tens of thousands of young people murdered for daring to protest).
As far as I can see, the highly principled Jeremy Corbyn couldn’t bring himself to protest or even complain about a single one of them.
Televising a public execution is beyond disgusting and barbaric. The death penalty should not exist, let alone be a live-streamed spectacle.
This is a grotesque violation of human dignity. We must oppose this - and the death penalty - everywhere.

Replying to @latimeralder
If I hired a cook, and some days she didn’t turn up, and some days she turned up and made eight breakfasts, you might want to get rid of the cook. But you certainly wouldn’t build an extension and a new pantry to store the breakfasts for when the cook didn’t turn up. Renewables are not reliable

I saw perhaps a thousand of these people coming across Waterloo Bridge today, on the closest weekend day to October 7th. The same thought as the below, more or less, went through my mind.
They know what they are doing, and I do not understand how they can celebrate that event. I know they will plead plausible deniability, false equivalence etc. But I know that they chose this weekend for a reason, and I can only recoil in revulsion from them and their cause.

For those out there still crying about the right to “armed resistance”, I’d like to point out a few things.
Rape, is not resistance.
Attacking a music festival, is not resistance.
Murdering people in their homes, is not resistance.
Burning teenagers alive, is not resistance.
Kidnapping a 9-month old, is not resistance.
Stealing fuel and aid from the people you govern, is not resistance.
Stealing international aid intended to help the people you govern, and using it for terror tunnels and missiles, is not resistance.
Firing rockets from hospitals, in order to intentionally draw return fire onto those hospitals, is not resistance.
Firing missiles from schools, in order to purposely draw return fire onto those schools, is not resistance.
Shooting the people you govern as they try to get aid to feed their families, is not resistance.
Stopping people from evacuating before the location they’re in is bombed, is not resistance.
Using the people you govern as human shields in order to make your enemy look bad, is not resistance.
Wiring homes and hospitals and schools with explosives to get them to implode when the enemy attacks, is not resistance.
Massacring people in their homes, in their beds, is not resistance.
Executing hostages is not resistance.
And guess what?
Justifying these actions as “resistance” is not “moral clarity”.
Rationalizing these vicious, barbaric acts is not “being on the right side of history”.
Supporting a group capable of carrying out this level of savagery, does not make you “woke”.
Justifying, rationalizing and supporting these acts, make you no better than the people who carried them out.
Justifying, rationalizing and supporting these acts, makes you a terrorist-supporter.
Justifying, rationalizing and supporting these acts, makes you culpable when those acts are repeated again. In your own countries. In your own cities.
What will your response be when they come to your door? Because if we don’t stop them, they will.
And if they were ever successful in destroying Israel and the Jewish people, there will be nobody to speak up for you when they do.

Yes it was not so much the atrocity as the reaction to the atrocity that made me finally realise the left as I understood it no longer existed, if it ever existed in the first place.
Three years ago, on 7 October, my worldview changed—not so much because of the atrocities committed by Hamas (what else would you expect from a genocidal terrorist group?), but because of the shocking response to those atrocities from many of my “progressive” friends: from apologetics and denial to outright jubilation.
That day, I was jolted out of my complacency and woke up to the poisonous ideology that had quietly taken hold across large swathes of the Left and academia.
My forthcoming book, The Betrayal of the Enlightenment (@PitchstoneBooks), reconstructs how self-proclaimed progressives, of all people, could have arrived at this point.

Three years ago, I opened my phone in a Paris hotel room and watched the horrors of 7 October unfold. Then I saw people celebrating the massacre on London’s streets. I had grown up believing we understood what “Never Again” meant. Those celebrations left me wondering how much of my own country I had failed to understand.
Speaking up for Jewish friends took me to the massacre sites, into Gaza and eventually into a new career. Today, I’ve written about that journey, with the victims and the families I have met foremost in my thoughts. It has been an honour to stand with the Jewish community these past three years. Nobody should need courage simply to walk to synagogue in Britain. We owe our Jewish neighbours considerably more than sympathy on an anniversary.
