As I conclude eight years serving as Bishop of a Diocese I love, I am deeply grateful to God for all I have shared in ministry with people and communities across this great city. You have shaped me into the priest and the person I am today. Photo credit: Graham Lacdao / St Paul’s Cathedral

A significant occasion at @StOlaveHartSt on Thursday for the institution of the Revd Philip Dawson as Rector. His gift for building relationships in the City will be a blessing as his ministry begins in this historic parish.

Happy New Year! While filming her New Year’s message for the BBC, Bishop Sarah spent time at @EvelinaLondon Children’s Hospital, meeting staff caring for children and families, and at Saint, where community, care, and belonging are at the heart of daily life. “Joy is born exactly where despair expects to triumph.” This Christmas Day at @StPaulsLondon , Bishop Sarah preached of a joy strong enough for the world as it is - a joy born in crowded places, when we make room for one another. Happy Christmas. May the joy of Christ be born anew in us today.

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy at @HeathrowAirport provides valuable support throughout the year to the Heathrow’s many employees and passengers, including spiritual, emotional, and practical care. It was fantastic to join the team on Tuesday to see how they are blessing passengers and the airport community.

This Christmas, churches across the @dioceseoflondon are demonstrating God’s love to their communities. I had the privilege to see some of it in action at @PerivaleChurch, which is hosting the Ealing Churches Winter Night Shelter. The emergency shelter provides food, warmth and companionship every night from November to March each year, working with 20 churches and 200 volunteers.
