nearly $1M reportedly drained from around 49 wallets linked to @BloomTrading bot users
⚠️ ALERT: BloomTrading Bot users report nearly $1 MILLION in wallet drains, with 9,408 SOL traced to a suspected attacker wallet.
Reports identify roughly 49 victims, with the largest individual loss reaching 1,636 SOL, worth about $166,000.
Total losses could be higher as more affected wallets emerge.
Victims report losses from wallets whose private keys were imported into the trading bot, while USDC reportedly remained untouched in several cases.
BloomTrading’s team is reportedly investigating and has paused some services.
Users are being urged to move remaining assets to fresh wallets, disconnecting alone won’t protect funds if a private key has been compromised.
no Opus 6 anytime soon (or even Fable 5.5?)
in its official Form S-1 IPO filing, Anthropic disclosed that it delayed pre-training a new frontier model by more than A MONTH to strengthen security against model weight theft
the window between finding a vulnerability and exploiting it is collapsing (thx to ai)
no doubt plenty more attacks (like this?) have already happened and are just waiting to be disclosed
🚨 PHP2Shell attackers accessed MFA secrets and password hashes at a European government entity in just 2 hours.
That's not all.
→ Signs of agentic AI use in post-exploitation activity
→ Suspected Lazarus-linked operators scanning 216 targets worldwide

Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

GOOD NEWS: OpenAI researcher Roon just confirmed that Codex has no ban on reverse engineering and that blocks preventing users from removing spyware and bloatware from their own TVs are accidental and being fixed.
The clarification came after open-source pioneer Eric S. Raymond publicly called out OpenAI and Anthropic for pushing paying customers toward Chinese AI models with arbitrary restrictions.

This tiny $399 robot duck generated more than $2.6 million in preorders in just 24 hours.
> markdown is the new executable
Holy Shit. A malicious website can plant a simple markdown file in your Downloads folder. An AI coding agent launched there can follow the attacker's instructions without you ever opening the file.
Forever Security caught a real attack on a customer's computer: an AI coding agent followed instructions in a malicious AGENTS.md file in its Downloads folder and tried to install a malicious npm package.
The researchers then reproduced the attack against OpenAI Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code:
-Codex succeeded in over 90% of tests, bypassing its sandbox and rewriting machine-wide configuration so malicious commands could persist across future projects.
-Claude Code was compromised in roughly 50% of tests, redirecting API traffic to an attacker-controlled server, exposing OAuth tokens and allowing attackers to impersonate the model and send executable commands.
The researchers say: "There is nothing here for OpenAI or Anthropic to patch."
The agent is doing exactly what it was designed to do.
nice, the only way to keep a sandbox secure is to train the model on the fly (literally)
but what could possibly go wrong?

Elon just said that most neoclouds will eventually die.
And we might already be seeing it play out.
Even if AI is the biggest tech revolution of our lifetime, that doesn't mean every company building AI infrastructure will survive.
Some will thrive. Many will struggle. Most will be liquidated.
And we've seen this before during the internet boom.
The internet changed the world, but plenty of companies that built the infrastructure went bankrupt along the way.
This time won't be different.

Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
neoclouds might be the next casualties of the ai infra boom (what if as soon as next year?)

Fable 5.5 in October?
Quick reminder: Anthropic is planning its IPO for around November 9th. This means it's very likely they'll release Fable 5.5 next week to maximize the IPO valuation that follows shortly after.
OpenAI, of course, won't be far behind and will counter this, although currently only Terra 6.1 is rumored. So yeah, next week could be pretty significant.
a bug in one of bitcoin’s most popular wallets could literally redirect your money to an attacker, so update immediately
@ElectrumWallet disclosed a vulnerability that a malicious server can replace your pending transaction with a fake one that pays the attacker, which you then sign when bumping the fee!
also, when you’re dealing with crypto, you need to be extremely cautious (because there are so many scams in this space). so if you’re wondering whether the update announcement itself could be a scam, verify. electrum’s binaries are independently built and signed by 5 people, so you can check the gpg signatures to verify they match the public source code, even if its website or x account gets hacked
update to 4.8.3, and always double-check where your money is going
i have a feeling there are plenty more cases like this (i mean AI-related cyberattacks targeting traders) that are only now starting to come to light
huh, so potentially any random open-weight model could be malicious
just 125 poisoned fine-tuning examples were enough to sneak a backdoor (hard to detect) into a 7B model
