🧵 BITCOIN MYTH BUSTING Myth: “Once a Bitcoin transaction is in a block, it's final.” Not exactly. Here’s what actually happens 👇

Bitcoin doesn't give you absolute finality. It gives you probabilistic finality. The deeper the transaction is buried under proof-of-work, the harder it becomes to replace.

That's one of the beautiful things about Bitcoin: Finality isn't declared. It's earned through accumulated proof-of-work. ⚡ What other Bitcoin “common knowledge” should we bust? #Bitcoin #BitDevsPH #BitcoinDev

Then comes the idea of 6 confirmations. Each additional block built on top makes a reversal increasingly difficult and expensive. But there's no magical “6 = final” rule.

So when people say: “My transaction has 1 confirmation." It means: Your transaction is in the current best-known chain. It does not mean reversal is impossible.

If the competing chain eventually has more accumulated proof-of-work, nodes can switch to it. The block containing your transaction could disappear from the active chain. Your transaction may need to be included again.

A miner can include your transaction in a block. But another miner could produce a competing block at the same height. Now there are two possible chains. This is a chain reorganization (reorg).
