Globally, 1.1 billion people live with vision loss, including blindness. Women and girls make up 55% of these people.
On International Women's Day, we celebrate amazing women who spend their lives improving eye care for others.
Let's celebrate Louis Braille's birthday who was blind, invented the Braille system @ 15 years old. His raised dot system helped blind people read and write on their own. Happy birthday to the person who made a difference in the world!
