I wish I hadn't waited so long, but it's still the best possible time for a nerd like me to get into sailing. In addition to rebuilding the deck & skeg on my 45-year-old boat, learning to fiberglass along the way, I'm updating the instruments to NMEA 2000.

I'm so going to write a custom app that'll take all that NMEA data, integrate with satellite imagery and charts, and have the most ludicrously overbuilt smart-device chart plotter. #WeAreGoingToNeedABiggerTablet
