Manchester United imploding, Arsenal fans falling out with each other...
He who laughs last laughs the longest
The weird paradox of city fans loving our owners and united fans hating theirs ...yet we are in the wrong for getting behind our club.

Interesting interview on five live with the chair of the independent football regulator who straight batted any talk of city's owners licenses being revoked. Apparently he is on tomorrow with Adrian chiles to take calls from the public...it may be an interesting listen
Awaiting the hilarious advert about cheating....may be some time
A gardenerβs iPad showed sheβd won Β£1.1 MILLION on a Paddy Power game. They paid her Β£20,265.14 and said the screen was wrong. Four and a half years later, a High Court judge ruled the screen was right.
β Corrine Durber was a gardener from Gloucestershire, England.
β In October 2020 she was playing a Paddy Power game called Wild Hatter on her iPad. It combines a fruit machine with a wheel-of-fortune bonus round.
β She won the first stage, moved to the next level, and spun the jackpot wheel.
β The screen showed the βMonster Jackpotβ of Β£1,097,132.71.
β She took a screenshot.
β Paddy Power paid her Β£20,265.14, the amount for the smaller βDaily Jackpot,β and gave no explanation.
β She complained to the company the same evening.
β Paddy Power said a programming error had made the screen show the wrong prize. Its random number generator, it said, had only selected the Daily Jackpot.
β Its terms and conditions said the generatorβs result was final and that it wasnβt liable for system errors.
β That was the whole problem. Paddy Power wrote the game, ran the software that picked the result, wrote the rules, and then decided which number counted when its own screen disagreed with its own system.
β A prediction market doesnβt work that way. Thereβs no house writing the game or choosing the result afterward.
β You trade against another person at a price someone actually agreed to, and your payout comes from the person on the other side, not from a company deciding the number on your screen was a mistake.
β She sued for breach of contract.
β In March 2025, Mr Justice Ritchie granted summary judgment in her favor, so there was no full trial.
β His 62-page ruling found that human error in mapping the gameβs software caused the on-screen result to differ from the generatorβs. It affected 14 plays over 48 days.
β The judge said customers expect the house to pay if they bet on number 13 and the ball lands on 13.
β He found the terms unfair and unenforceable under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and not part of her contract.
β He also said it was unfair to place all the risk on the consumer for the companyβs own errors, negligence, and inadequate testing.
β She said the judge confirmed she had βfairly and squarely won Β£1 MILLION.β
β She said Paddy Power had βtried their very best to deny me my rightful winnings.β
β She said she would never bet with them again.
A gardener hit Β£1.1 MILLION on her iPad, was paid Β£20,000 instead, and spent four and a half years in court proving the screen was right.
As the Mayor of Manchester..any stats on how many times he attended games at Old Trafford football and cricket ? Nope.. whys that then
π¨ NEW: Andy Burnham's meetings and dealings with Manchester City's owners have now been published
- He was a guest of Manchester City at home matches on a "small number of occasions", including Vincent Kompanyβs 2019 testimonial, where he met the Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak "informally" in the stands
- In October 2021, he had a "formal meeting" with Al Mubarak at the UK Governmentβs Global Investment Summit
- Representatives from Manchester City, Manchester United and Lancashire Cricket Club joined mayoral visits to India, China, Japan, the US and Ireland
So we are paying off referees who are employed and payrolled by the same organisation who have just charged city. Why am I confused?
