Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three. She was a writer and poet. Yesterday, an ICE agent shot and killed her. She had joined countless other Americans in protest of ICE’s cruel and unlawful tactics. I join the nation in mourning her loss.
Under the Trump administration, ICE has become a rogue agency. It should have no role in immigration enforcement.

A woman trying to drive away is dead. There is no excuse for her murder.
And for those trying to make excuses: we’ve seen the videos with our own eyes. Eyewitnesses are clear, including one who said Renee was receiving conflicting orders.
DHS’ own handbook forbids the behavior of this agent. But these agents are not properly trained, and this administration has essentially given them a blank check.
It is disrespectful to local law enforcement to compare these agents to the men and women who live and serve among us. ICE has become something else entirely, and they make the work of local law enforcement harder. They make our communities less safe.
The agent who murdered Renee must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Kristi Noem must resign now — but she has no shame and won’t.
That’s why I support impeachment of this administration’s most lawless and abusive official. This is out of control.

ICE agents have shot at least nine other people just since September, killing one.
Under Trump, this violence is rewarded with fat bonuses and student loan forgiveness — while nurses, teachers, and everyone else struggles to get by.
